Brendan Edward James Baker grew up in Oak Park, IL and Brownsville, TX. He attended the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, Carleton College (MN), and the University of Michigan Law School. He spent a year at Oxford University studying medieval languages and literature, and he published two papers on Old English poetry as an undergraduate. He wrote his first novel while practicing as an attorney in Baltimore, MD. When not working, he enjoys playing guitar, listening to loud music, chasing his Corgi around the house, seeing as many movies as possible, and daydreaming about being a time-traveling rock star space scientist (with super powers). Baker lives in Denver, CO.
