HALLOWEEN A TIME TO HONOR AND COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEAD

Do you believe spirits connect with you?And some continue to stay around planet earth? I do.

Why do I know there is something to it? I've been around a lot of spooky places and contacted many, many spirits. I've know things about dead people I've never met and shared it with their living loved ones. And, I've been to the otherside.

Please see an interview with me about one person's experience on Youtube.

In my book "How to Talk With Spirits:Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts" chapter 10 gives you a lovely Halloween ritual to honor and hopefully communicate with your loved ones who have passed.

HALLOWEEN, A SPOOKY, good time and all for amusement, right?

The night is much more than just for fun. All Hallows Eve or Halloween and November First, are sacred times for many throughout the world to honor the dead. The Celts and Mexicans honor their elderly, ancestors, and the dead with special rituals and celebrations on those days. The Catholic Church combined the pagan beliefs with their own to create a day to honor the saints on November first.

Celtic pagans believed the veils between the two worlds of the living and dead thinned or dropped so spirits could walk the earth to visit their living relatives before crossing back over to the “underworld.” The spirits were not only our loved ones, but also all spirits who want to walk the earth, feel alive and connected to the living. During the spirits’ visit, spooky things happened, as you can imagine. The Celts disguised themselves to waylay troublesome or evil spirits so they wouldn’t recognize and haunt people. Tradition warned people, especially the elderly, the sick and the young, to stay safely hidden inside so they wouldn’t be grabbed and taken to the “underground.” This is a good time to invite spirits you want to visit into your home.

IT WAS A SMASH.

I hope you had a fun, sacred Hallowe'en and Holy Day of the Dead.

I hobbled on over to an event planned for the past four months through my injury and surgery. Nothing was going to stop me.

We had hoped for a smashingly good time - and got it! Everyone laughing and talking and some getting tarot readings and then so quiet and interested in the later ritual event.

Three of us led and performed a ritual of the season's message. This first time offered private event was sold out by September first and held at a favorite wine bar in my home town.

Fun was had, tarot readings, book sales, wine flowed, The Haunted Bay video entertained people and all leading up to a beautiful ritual to remember ancestors and departed loved ones.

The story of the season - why do we celebrate by dressing up and handing out candy was told. It is based on the weather, the survival of life from pagan times, and the belief in spirits of loved ones continue to flourish on another plane of time and space.

The Altar was a glow with beautiful candle lights.
As part of the ritual we invited the guests to partake in a guided meditation to connect with departed loved ones. It was most moving as guests felt the sorrow and the joy of sensing, or feeling a connection.

The proprietor said she looked forward to doing it next year. She hadn't ever seen a ritual as such nor realized that Hallowe'en time was much more than dressing up and having fun.

I led a lovely Hallowe'en  ritual to connect with loved ones that really can be done at any time of the year.

Read the ritual in my book "How to Talk With Spirits: Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts"by June Ahern available through Amazon, your favorite bookstore, or me.

Blessed be.

LETTER TO THE DEAD: A HALLOWEEN RITUAL

REMEMBERANCEA LETTER TO YOUR DEPARTED LOVED ONES

Have you thought of writing to a loved one who has died? Telling her or him about how much you enjoyed your time together? How your life is? Perhaps asking for some guidance?

You aslo might write a note to a departed one patching things up that weren't fixed before they passed away.

At my annual Gala Hallowe'en Event the new addition to the ritual ceremony was much appreciated - The Remembrance Table with notepaper and pens.

Guests were invited to write a departed loved one a note or simply her/his name.

Soon the basket filled up.

We then had our Ritual Celebration with music and audience particpation about Hallowe'en and why and how it's celebrated.

Afterward, the  basket with the purple cloth -(color signifying the 7th Crown chakra) was placed on the altar.

I let the guests know that on All Hallow's Eve (Halloween) I will say a prayer to the spirits before sending their notes to the heavens or as pagan's say, "Slumberland" inviting the dead relatives and friends to visit their petitioners.

Perhaps you too will write a note and burn it in a fire safe container, thinking of your loved one and she or he will come to visit you tonight or in the following days.

So Mote it Be.

INVITE SPIRITS TO VISIT

HALLOWEEN: SPIRITS ARE FREE TO VISIT EARTH
NOVEMBER 1ST: THEY VISIT: SAINTS, INNOCENTS & SINNERS
NOVEMBER 2ND: ENJOY THE VISITS; MEMORIES LINGER

WELCOMING SPIRITS OF YOUR LOVED ONES IS LIKE INVITING SOMEONE TO VISIT YOU.

Send an invitation to your departed loved one especially at this time of Halloween, originally known as All Hallow's Eve, a Holy Eve before what is All Saints' Day and Day of the Dead: November 1st and November 2nd when the spirit readily come to walk Earth and visit.

Begin with a written invitation: write her or his name; dear...hello...greetings - however you greet a loved one, a friend your pet. It's nice to write a short note, perhaps a favorite memory. This creates a heartfelt connection with the spirit of the departed.

Along with your note you can add a photo of your loved one to sit in front of you.

Place a white candle (safely) in a window as a beacon, telling your spirit, here I am, come visit.

Close your eyes, take a few or more relaxing breathes and softly call the name of your loved one 3x. If you're crying, wait, redo, be calm; sit still and open your mind and heart for a visit from spirit. Enjoy the moment.

You might "feel" an energy change, a presence, or see in your mind's eye your loved one, and then again you could "hear" a message within or smell a particular scent associated with that person.

If you have a question, phrase it simply. If you have a comment, again make it simple without a whole lot of details Spirits do best  with simple messages.

If you have what you think, no connection, perhaps in your dreams, (the easiest way to connect with spirits) you'll connect.

In the days following stay aware of "coincidences" that remind you of that person or pet. Spirits often communicate through symbols. For instance, a bird perches close to you, a bird your person used to enjoy - or the color of it.

In my All Hallow's Eve celebration and ritual I create a Remembrance Board as part of my special Gala Ritual Celebration; this time on Zoom.

In front of it is an altar representing the season's colors and candles. Usually, my Halloween altar is a bit more elaborate but this year for the purpose on Zoom I didn't add as much.

More about creating a Halloween Altar in my book, "How to Talk With Spirits: Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts" paperback, audio, eBook.
