D.P. Mitchell grew up in an obscure hamlet in the Catskill Mountains not far from where the Woodstock Festival was held. A high school graduate at age sixteen, Mitchell attended Vassar College, earning a degree in Chemistry after four hard fought years. That led unnaturally to a career in software building that had many twists and turns and eventually gave way to a longtime interest in writing.

Mitchell lives on the Oregon Coast with his wife: a nurse, stained-glass artist, gourmet cook and book editor. They are managed by three challenging cats and interact with the herds of deer and elk that frequently show up in their backyard.

The Hyperion Web (book 2 in the series) is scheduled for publication next week (3/15/17), so I've also been engaged in marketing activities for the book. Early reader feedback has been very encouraging and I'm hoping that everyone who reads the book enjoys spending time with the characters and is engaged by the story. I definitely enjoyed writing the book.(less)
