Townsend Walker is a writer of morally intricate fiction that explores the part of human nature that never sleeps. His work draws on cemeteries, foreign cities, strong women, and the quiet violence of ordinary lives.

A short story collection, "No One Sleeps," was published by Atmosphere Press in October 2026.

A short story collection, "3 Women, 4 Towns, 5 Bodies," was published by Deeds Publishing in January 2018.

A novella, "La Ronde," was published by Truth Serum Press in June 2015.

Over 100 short stories have been published in literary journals and included in 20 anthologies.

How do you get inspired to write?
Townsend Walker If things are going slowly I get out my collection of postcards and photos, pick out a few and describe what is happening or has just happened to land…moreIf things are going slowly I get out my collection of postcards and photos, pick out a few and describe what is happening or has just happened to land the people in the photo were they are. Sometimes its only worth a couple hundred words, but then I go to the next one. After a while some creative juices may start to flow.(less)
