But I understand many readers want more of Solène and Hayes, and if the demand was big enough, I would consider revisiting them. They are still very much in my thoughts. That said, The Idea of You would have to be a decent success for my publisher to come on board. So, your best bet is to spread the word.

Thank you so much for reading!

Robinne Lee answered Mayra Valencia's question: Robinne Lee
Hi Mayra,

Thank you for reaching out. Much about Ollie and Hayes's relationship I left purposely ambiguous, as I wanted readers to come to their own conclusions about the nature of their friendship. And so there is room for you to interpret it as you See Full Answer

“And then one day, they stopped.
Long, long before I had stopped loving him.”
Robinne Lee, The Idea of You

“I’m saying it because I love you.”
He was quiet, weighing the moment. And then he smiled, wide. “What took you so long?”
I laughed. “I was just making sure it was you, and not the idea of you.”
Robinne Lee, The Idea of You

“I’m really happy when I’m with you. I get the feeling you feel the same way. And if that’s true, I don’t think you should give a fuck about what people may or may not think of our age difference. Furthermore, if our ages were reversed, no one would bat an eyelash. Am I right? So now it’s just some sexist, patriarchal crap, and you don’t strike me as the kind of woman who’s going to let that dictate her happiness. All right? Next issue…”

“I want an avowed atheist in the White House. When time comes to push that button, I want whoever's making the decision to understand that once it's pushed, it's over. Finito. They're not gonna have lunch with Jesus. Won't be deflowering 72 virgins on the great shag carpet of eternity, or reincarnated as a cow. I want someone making that decision who believes life on this Earth isn't just a dress rehearsal for something better -- but the only shot we get.”

“If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”
Oscar Wilde

“If readers discount certain topics as unworthy of their attention, if readers are going to judge a book by its cover or feel excluded from a certain kind of book because the cover is, say, pink, the failure is with the reader, not the writer. To read narrowly and shallowly is to read from a place of ignorance,”
