It's just a pen name. It doesn't really stand for anything. :)

My original idea was "Cleití Capall." It's Irish and means "horse feathers," which is another term for nonsense. Someone pointed out that it's unpronounceable to anyone outside the Gaeltachta, so I munged it from "cle-chi cah pull" to "H.C. Cavall."(less)
