I spent the last week painting this storyboard -- it's the first in a set of 27. The story is about a VR sex worker, and her hacker friend, as they take on a corporate police state.

Drugs, Sex, and Violent Revolution. 

I've already written the story once, and I've got a clear idea of the general course of the story, but each "Halo", will be Patron Directed, through a Keyframe Voting System. During the last vote, Patrons decided that the opening of the story would focus on the relationship between the two characters, while they pick up some drugs in the city, before heading to work.

My next step is to plot out three more potential paths for the story in sketch format, and then ask patrons to vote on which path they want me to illustrate.

I went for a speedpaint styled painting with this one, which means that I made up the composition as I went along. 

There was a critical moment where my initial drawing was off somehow. I believe it was the center of balance on the mushroom that she is sitting on. I didn't want to repaint the whole picture, so i tilted it, and then redid the composition from that point. 

The end result was pretty unexpected, because it went from a pin-up with a mushroom seat and a crown, to "This princess might actually be a crocodile."

I named this painting P. Mexicana, because the raven hair and slight darkening of the skin suggested a pale latin american woman. Got them crowns, and stars, and tomboy charms, so I'll call it Princess Daisy. 

Another element of this painting that is interesting to me is that this is the first movement where I am really considering the images that I create as assets instead of simply paintings to share. 

The painting was actually created for a Patreon Suggest & Vote, but is in its sketch form for the voting -- meaning this sketch was a suggestion by one of my patrons, and will be voted on with two others to determine which one I bring to a final. 

However, I've also decided that it would be a good idea to stream regularly on Picarto.TV. So, I am going to attempt to put together an experimental schedule, and see if I can keep that up. Got a lot of artwork to do over the next 5 weeks, as Liber Vulva is taking off.

I'm not interested in a long and detailed political post, describing the benefits and hazards of Anarcho-Collectivism, but I can share a few positive aspects of my Co-Op life: 

Inexpensive Walnuts: Group buying power is something that everyone should use, as long as they can be bothered to organize their purchases with their communities. This leverage can also be extended to small business startups, and hobby expenses. Company for 18 Degree Dumpster Dives: When it's cold at night, but that dumpster outside of the organic foods store is just waiting to give your kitchen another week of bounty. It's nice to have another person willing to trek out with you. Socialization for Hermits: Interested in making tea, or eating breakfast. Welcome to Social Hour. The random social interactions offer a lot to improve the quality of life in Co-Op houses. Conflict Resolution Skills: Co-operating with people is not all going to be roses, but the unpleasant parts probably make you grow as a person. 

Just a few thoughts on why co-operative living or work philosophies might benefit you.

United-Diversity: I discovered this Free Digital Library a few years ago. Topics range from Bee Keeping and Business Plans to Community Organizing, to Water and Sanitation -- it's an empowering reservoir of knowledge.

Do yourself a favor, and make a few clicks, just so you know it's there. 

I am a wasteful note taker. 

Small bits of paper, large sheets of paper. Writing scrawled on walls in sharpie, only to need me to paint over the once urgent messages when they are no longer applicable.

I write down ideas, demands, concept structures, priority lists, etc, during my brainstorming, or problem solving phases. -- I've noticed that many of these symbols and ideas are repeated over the course of time. 

Eventually the useful ones are used so frequently that they tend to crystalize in the mind.

I am surprised that the act of writing them down is more vital than actually keeping the notes, or re-visiting them.

There will always be more to focus on: 

More Research, Strategies, Markets, or Project Types.More Characters, Sex Scenes or Shocking Twists, Explicit Descriptions, or Taboo content. More Uncertainties within Relationships, Identities or Pride issues. 

Seems like the answer is probably a lot more simple than I had previously thought. Likely there is too much noise.

Thought Experiment:

The next time you wake up, kill a thought pattern by asking how you can set up a system to capture that action based anxiety , or eliminate the action entirely. If you are unable to do either, consider if it is possible to delegate that task to someone else, and if it would be more efficient for you to spend your time on something else.

Do this every day until you have run out of things to distract yourself from the projects you care most about.

Active insights happen after a stiff mug of coffee, and a conversational rant. I'm often excited, and shooting out tangential thoughts related to a central topic of conversation. It feels productive, and I ride the manic wave of genius -- only to realize, I'm just talking, and probably not nearly as effectively as I imagined. 

Passive Insights come in moments of clarity. 

In a dream, or while going for a walk. Passive insights can be subtle, and contain hidden gold -- or they can be obvious and simple -- So much so that the insights are not followed with action.

I feel most productive when experience passive insights, and take active, directed action based on those insights. 

While manic coffee ideation, with no follow-through can be enjoyable -- it is also exhausting, and comparatively fruitless.

Blood Elf Ritual [World of Warcraft]

I've tried to create a type of erotica that has a subtle moralistic agenda. Essentially, I have to enjoy the story, and feel like the characters were actually there. Consequentially, I end up doing a lot of psychological narrative along with my work. 

I've been doing freelance erotica and romance for about 4 years now. Beyond that I've been trying to figure out how to self publish, and have recently grown to understand that a major component of self publishing is marketing your work. 

In that sense, I not only had to figure out the ropes of novel outline / meeting word count deadlines / cover creation / and kindle publishing. -- But I also had to do some research into learning how to market yourself as a creative professional on a shoestring. 

So, the process has actually been pretty well rounded. 

I'd like to create a Smut VLOG series, to share with people how I approach self publishing, and story crafting. 

If I had to break down story construction into 3 parts, I'd say the following: 

1) Outline, and sub-divide based on word count needed per chapter in order to achieve whatever word count goal you have set for yourself. This essentially determines daily work load, and pacing. 

2) Despite the best intentions of people to be well rounded intellectuals who appreciate fine literature, most of the time people require a lot more emotional manipulation in order to be really interested in a piece. In this sense, there are a number of hooks that need to be placed into each chapter by design. 

The first chapter needs to be violent, flashy, suspenseful, psychedelic, rich with sexual innuendo, and conflict. Each chapter to follow needs to have a hook at the end that leads people to want to read the next chapter. The ending needs to provide either a HFN [Happily For Now] conclusion -- which is a way of resolving the major conflict of the story, even though there may be elements which are left without resolution, which lead toward a sequel. Or, the ending needs to provide a HEA [Happily Ever After], total resolution of all relevant conflicts. Bowtie. 

3) Psychologically, and sexually, people as a general rule don't project a social image of what it is they like to fantasize about -- however, one must appeal to both their basic socio-sexual motivators, as well as provide something for them to hold onto within themselves afterward. Essentially, this means allowing yourself to be a surrogate therapist and fictitious problem solver for the end target audience. In a sense this impulse is informed by Jungian psychology, and a hermetic concept called the Coincidentia Oppositorum. 

What ends up happening with note three is that you find a way to have a woman be a submissive sexual person who also demonstrates a form of profound strength. Thus serving both a primary sexual desire for domination within the public female population, as well as a significant affirmation of self worth, equality or value. 

Or, you will have a rape scene, in conjunction with a hard fucking scene, in conjunction with a HEA love story. The total sexual profile of the book then covering psychological dynamics and processing of Abuse, Lust, and Love -- in a contrast and compare approach, while also equipping the heroine with the tools necessary to navigate all of them. Start her off as a virgin, and end up with a HEA love story, and you basically get a sexual development journey. 

The Coincidentia Oppositorum, in the sense of Carl Jung is also about bringing together opposites within the mind, for the purposes of "Individuation" or essentially a psychological maturity which balances and integrates different components of personality. 

These can be simplified for consumption by working with extremes, and tropes. 

Arrogant Man Learns Humility, but also finds merit for Arrogance. 

Junkie Prostitute, finds god, and true love, kicks her habit, but still has compassion for people with addiction problems -- ends up working for a larger and more abstracted form of liberation -- both concrete and psychological. 

etc.

That is basically how I approach the construction of my work. The rest has to do with small writing decisions, macro puzzle solving -- [to round out characters, and fill plot holes.], and just sitting down and typing for a few hours each day. 

Publishing and marketing is another thing entirely. 

Just finished writing the Standalone Sequel to Orcgasm, "The Barbarian's Captive."

I had a lot of fun writing this one, as I got to go back to my younger days, when I was very fond of books that involved epic wars, love affairs, and dragons. 

There are a few fun scenes in this 22k Novella, as well as a few more serious scenes. The book ends with a HFN type cliffhanger, so be prepared to be satisfied, but also curious as to what happens in the book to follow. 

I anticipate I will get the third book out by the end of this month, or the beginning of August.
