The Struggle
Legion's Dawn has just been released. I have had overwhelming support from my small circle of fans and readers. I have had an abundance of preorders and a list of people telling my congrats.
The downside is that being an Indie Author, the advertising, marketing and financial strategy that comes with, "Doing it on your own," is a bit of a burden. It's hard to get out there for the world to see without a hefty lump sum. Yes, social media is a free advertising platform, but those places have algorithms of their own and don't place you as a priority for people to see.
Reviews, word of mouth, and display at your own occurrence is all that is below an effective strategy unless you have people doing it for you as well. Trying to make it with something you're passionate about takes a lot of hard work with failure. People even sometimes get angry when they have to pay above 10 dollars for a book, even though they don't realize if a book costs 16, then the writer themselves are basically saying, "Hey, I spent 6 months developing this story and if I only sell one book, then I made 30% of that for 6 months. " There is a lot to being an author, and finding a lucky break is like winning the lottery, but the thing to always remember for why i became an author is because I love telling stories, and I love providing an escape for people from the real world.

Creator's Dementia
There is thing I have recognized as my time of being a creator. Not only do I write books, but I also do photography, podcast, cosplay, make videos, all sorts of different things that pertain to being a creator.
There is this thing we all do. We fantasize, we talk to ourselves, we dream of big things that we wish would come our way. We hope for that one eye to catch us and help project our visions into something more. Some of us wait patiently, some want it to happen as soon as they create something. The thing is, we all go back and forth with the ideas and notions of complete success and utter failure. But, no matter the situation we see ourselves in once we try to get where we are going, we tend to still create the false world in which we see ourselves while trying to make it a reality. This is what I like to call Creator's Dementia.
