After studying art in college, Kate worked as a visual artist in computer games. All her creative focus has always been on telling stories whether it was written, visual or experienced. She writes stories with heart, emotion and magic.

She currently lives on a sailboat in Southern California with her husband and is grateful for e-books because otherwise, the boat would have sunk by now.

My Fav Books of the Year List

Over the last two years, my reading choices have changed. I could blame the trauma of the Pandemic but, I suspect, it’s simply that everyone needs certain stories at different points in their lives. Currently, I lean toward stories that leave this planet behind. Anything but the contemporary-now! I used to be at my core a reader of romance and fantasy but I always had an interest in speculative fi

Stephen King
“The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear.”
Stephen King

Neil Gaiman
“Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
Neil Gaiman, Coraline

Charlotte Brontë
“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

Stephen King
“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
Stephen King

J.R. Ward
“Welcome to the wonderful world of jealousy, he thought. For the price of admission, you get a splitting headache, a nearly irresistable urge to commit murder, and an inferiority complex. Yippee.”
J.R. Ward, Dark Lover
