Whether I will start a story with the intent to finish it with a satisfying end. Its so unpredictable, one line can turn into a novel and 100 pages can mean nothing.Everyday is something waiting to happen; serendipity or a conscious act. Whether I work on it or not, the daydreaming mind is always at work. Everyday is a second of doodling, a minute of a snippet, an hour of a plot and then may be or may be not an organic story. Playing hide and seek with it, everyday, thank god writing is fun. (smiles)(less)

Well, when it strikes and catches me off guard, I don't try to fight it. That only sort of reinforces it. So just let the phase pass by as writer's block is actually mind's way of telling you “ take a break and see your work from a vantage point than going deeper into it”. Such a hiatus really helps to work out the kinks in your writing as your mind keep subconsciously thinking over how to perfect it. So don't greet writer’s block with a sigh but as a sign of a little respite and do something else to revitalize your creativity. I love to compose music and as long as writer's block is here to stay, I listen and play music. Or go for a long run. Meet up with friends. Go shopping for riff-raff. Watch movies, read good books and other things. It works. Writer's block senses your fear, anxiety and despair, so don’t give it the pleasure by playing with it. Just ignore. It works and it is way more fun. (less)

Falling for an Incubus in my sleep

Has it happened to you?
It was a seducing nightmare. I knew it was horror, yet I didn’t wish it to finish.

When it did end, my eyes opened calmly as a consensual partner. There was dread screaming silently through my nerves like cold sweat which pricks but doesn’t show itself. Yet I was calm in my fear, paralysed in my fear, shell-shocked to get up and leave the tantalising trauma of the dream.
