Luke is a storyteller whose dreams include learning the ways of the Force, becoming a sentient robot, and maybe even one day growing up. Also, lots of zombies… Don't ask.

After studying engineering science at Penn State and neuroengineering at Drexel, Luke finally decided to throw in the towel on actually building a working Iron Man suit, opting instead to simply make things up and write them down. Boy, is he having more fun now.

When he's not holed up in his cave trying to string words together, he can often be found powerlifting, video-gaming, reading, and/or drinking the darkest, most roasty beers he can get his mitts on.

You know what? Enough about Luke. He's not that interesting. But if you'd like to say hi to him for whatever reason, he

Hey David!

The short answer is no. Getting visibility as a new author is no easy feat, and being able to focus all of my efforts on Amazon (and to have the book enrolled in Kindle Unlimited) simplifies things. (For now.)

That being said, fear not! If you want to get a digital copy without going through Amazon, I'm still looking for a few more readers to round out my advance reader team. If you're willing to consider leaving reviews, I'm happy to send you free advance copies of new releases. If this sounds up your alley, all you have to do to join is leave a review of Red Gambit and let me know about it over here: http://lukermitchell.com/contact-luke/

On top of that, I would also like to eventually circulate the series out into Kobo and other retailers, but I can't make any reliable promises as to exactly when this might happen.

Thanks for the question, and happy reading!

Well shucks; thanks for the kind words!

Really glad to hear you're enjoying my work thus far.

I don't think I can answer your question too specifically without spoiling the next books, but I will say this:

What I WANT for my characters, particularly Jarek and Rachel, is for them to find their peace and quiet and live long, happy lives.

The universe, on the other hand, may have different plans.

What I can tell you for sure is that Rachel and Jarek have absolutely zero intention of lying down and letting the big scary intergalactic conquerors have their way. And those two can be pretty damn feisty when they dig their heels in.

Luckily, Book Three is hitting the shelves tomorrow, so you won't have to take my vague word for it.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the series! Thanks for the question.(less)

Why action heroes suck

Let me ask you something, Book Fan…

Can you think of the last time a good story scene got you all stirred up?

Maybe it was a wham-bam fight scene, a-la Jason Bourne.

Maybe it was something a bit more intimate and heated. (No judgies here!)

Maybe just a poignant one-liner that carried the weight of a whole franchise on its shoulders. (“I am Iron Man.”)

Me, I've always had this distinct memory of sitting

“You scoff,” Michael said, “but the teachings of the church are something this world needs now more than ever.” “Half of the people that went all stabby-looty-rapey on the world when things went to shit were God-fearin’ Christians, you know,”
