Yes, the events are very reminiscent of the public panic that surrounded accusations of communism in the 1950s and the mass hysteria generated during the Salem Witch trials- but on a larger scale. The stories are scarily similar and mirror those of other periods in history. It looks like such events are destined to re-occur, the only difference being the target group - as you say. It is only later
when objectivity is restored that things are looked at for the politicking that they were. Events have a habit of repeating throughout history. Thanks again for reading. I appreciated hearing your thoughts.

I am fascinated by the life and times of Charles II, so it would have to be the historical fiction book world. History is told through the eyes and pen of those who record events, often slanted to their own preferences and allegiances. While I was there I would look around to see how things really were. I would like to meet and talk to Mary Beatrice of Modena, Nell Gwynn and other characters from this time. I suspect that I would be shocked by what I heard during our natters.(less)
