TONY BARNSTONE is The Albert Upton Professor of English at Whittier College and author of seventeen books and a music CD, Tokyo's Burning: WWII Songs. His poetry books include Beast in the Apartment (Sheep Meadow), Buddha in Flames: Selected Poems (Ediciones el Tucán de Virginia), Tongue of War: From Pearl Harbor to Nagasaki, John Ciardi Prize winner (BKMK Press); The Golem of Los Angeles, Benjamin Saltman Award winner (Red Hen); Sad Jazz: Sonnets (Sheep Meadow); and Impure: Poems by Tony Barnstone (U of Florida Press).


JOHN FITZGERALD’S most recent book is Favorite Bedtime Stories (Salmon). He is a poet, writer and attorney for the disabled in Los Angeles. A dual citizen of the United States and Ireland, he attended the University of West Los Angeles School of Law, where he was editor of the Law Review. The Mind was published by Salmon Poetry in 2011. His first book, Spring Water, was a Turning Point Books prize selection in 2005. Telling Time by the Shadows was released in 2008 by Turning Point Books. As yet unpublished works include Primate, a novel and screenplay, and the non-fiction Everything I Know.


MARIANO ZARO is the author of four poetry books: Where From/Desde Donde, Poems of Erosion/Poemas de la erosión, The House of Mae Rim/La casa de Mae Rim and Tres letras/Three Letters. Most recently, Buda en llamas/Buddha in Flames, his Spanish translation of Tony Barnstone’s poetry, was published in Mexico by El Tucán de Virginia. He earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Granada (Spain) and a Master’s in Literature from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. Born in Spain he has lived in Santa Monica since 1994. He teaches Spanish at Rio Hondo College, Whittier.

ARIANA HALL is an artist with local Los Angeles and increasing international acclaim. Graduating cum laude from the University of Miami Jazz School, Ariana has toured all over the world as a professional singer including Hong Kong, Australia, Europe & Canada.

HÉLÈNE CARDONA is a poet & actress (Chocolat, X-Men Days of Future Past). She is the author of Dreaming My Animal Selves (Salmon Poetry), The Astonished Universe (Red Hen), & the forthcoming Life in Suspension. She taught at Hamilton College and Loyola Marymount University, attended the Universidad Menéndez Pelayo, Spain, and the Sorbonne, Paris, where she earned a Master’s in American Literature. She translated for the Canadian Embassy and NEA, & received fellowships from the Goethe-Institut & the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía.
