Pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Dallastown, PA.

As a pastor, I'm interested in contemporary models and understandings of being church in a post-Christendom world and engaging those marginalized by the church and by society with a radical understanding of Christianity and a life of service.

I was a little apprehensive about it at first, not wanting to do one of those "Bad Girls of the Bible" type books but worked out some treatments and believed we could do something new and unique. I'm really proud of what we have come up with, and Natalie's art is great!

The PALGRAVE HANDBOOK OF RADICAL THEOLOGY (due this fall) is the culmination of years and years of visioning, proposing, discussion, recruiting, editing, more editing, and more editing. I gave up on the project a few times, not having enough time to do it, and invited Jordan Miller on board as the co-editor and we were able to do it. The idea was to have a reference book or a starting point for new students and new readers into this "category" of (mostly) Christian writing called "radical theology." The term gets kicked around a bit without much definition as to what exactly "radical theology" is and means. The project was to introduce to new readers the broad history and various themes and topics associated with this group of theologians. I believe that it is a game-changer for those studying the topic as this is now the very first text students and researchers should begin and launch the ideas into their own and new directions.(less)
