Writing, like any other profession, is wedged between all the other things that happen in life: family, naps, emergency room visits, weddings, late night trips to the drug store, colds, divorce, hangovers, day jobs, car problems, and everything else. It is difficult to always be on and ready and creative. Writing is hard work! I try to keep notebooks with various ideas, images, lines of dialogue, and whatnot to look at to help get back into the right mindset.
