The Circle of Fire Book Seven is out!

Today is the official launch of the seventh book in my action-adventure series, The Circle of Fire.

I call it:

Civil War

It’s launching at the special sale price of $0.99 for th4 ebook. Grab it before it goes back up to $4.99 on Nov. 6th. The first book in the series will be free and books two through six will be $0.99 each for the same period of time.

In this latest installment, the members of The Circle of Fire have met up with forces who oppose the Taliban’s rule in the summer of 2024. Their insurrection starts a fight that will determine the country’s future. Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal may hold the key to breaking the stalemate — if Jan and Kelly can locate and extract the warheads.

The child soldier Hajeerat, having previously turned his allegiances from the The Circle of Fire to a brutal Taliban trainer, weighs another shift in alliances as he learns the first love of his life is being molested. Will it be two late for him to change sides again?

The full synopsis is below:

Summer, 2024

Afghanistan is again at civil war. Jan and the rest of The Circle of Fire are fighting to free the country from the chains of Taliban rule. They have joined forces with the Knights of Durrani and their allied militias, operating from a secret headquarters in the gold mines of Badakhshan.

Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal may hold the key to breaking the stalemate on the front lines. Jan and Kelly embark on a mission to infiltrate an air base where the warheads may be stored. They must leave their young child behind to lead the uprising against the supreme mullah, a cruel religious zealot who wants them dead.

Farrukh returns to his tribal village, unsure if he will be greeted as a hero or a traitor. The fate of his wife will depend on Hafizullah, who sets out to free her from captivity in Balochistan.

The young fighter Hajeerat has defected to the Taliban, only to witness the enslavement of a girl he loves. Is it too late for him to switch sides again?

Running short of time and options, Jan agrees to the demands of the Russian conscripts who want their own nuclear weapon to take revenge on their motherland. The Circle of Fire will risk everything on the outcome of Afghanistan’s Civil War in the seventh installment of the action-adventure series by Amazon best-selling author Andrew Anžur Clement.

For my next work, I’m already working on the eighth book in The Circle of Fire. I don’t have a working title for it yet. The gist of things is that the Afghans as well as Jan’s Ukrainian and Russian friends are going to take the fight to Russia, as Putin’s war of aggression in Ukraine continues to rage. To be honest, my heart strings have caused me to conceive of a ninth book. After the better part of two years writing this series, I think I’ll have to put it on the back burner for a while.

For my next works, I plan to finish The Circle of Fire’s eighth installment. Then I plan to write the sixth and final installment of my series, Poor Little Rich Kids.

After that I have a whole new series in the works. I won’t say anything more, except that it’s set in Slovenia, the Balkans and in the central eastern countries of the former Soviet block. It involves a hunt for a kings golden treasure.

For now, I hope you enjoy Civil War.

You can find the link for it here.

The Circle of Fire: Book Six is out!

This one has been a while in coming, having been delayed by my computer’s keyboard malfunction, my editor’s vacation schedule and some hijinks with the spine size of the paperback cover.

But, suffice it to say that The Circle of Fire: Book six is here. It’s title is: In Balochistan.

In this book Jan, Kelly and the rest of their friends in The Circle of Fire start stranded off the coast of Yemen on the landing ship Azov. Running low on fuel and friends, their only hope may rest with joining up with a mysterious order of fighters known only as The Knights of Durrani in eastern Afghanistan.

To make it there, they will have to steal fuel, save their friends still languishing in custody in Dubai and then fight their way through a simmering conflict zone in Balochistan, Pakistan’s westernmost province.

No one can be trusted — not even the friends they thought they knew — as fragile alliances shift, break and are betrayed as they try to fight their way north through Balochistan.

The promotional launch will run from August 6th, 2025 through the tenth of the same month. The ebook of Book One in the six (so far) book series will be free for this time. The other five ebooks will be $0.99 each.

Grab them while you can!

A synopsis of In Balochistan is below:

Jan, Kelly and the crew of the Azov are almost out of options, stranded off the coast of Yemen with no fuel, no food, and no friends. Their only hope? Joining forces with the Knights of Durrani, a mysterious order of warriors fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.

First, they must rescue loved ones who are still being held captive in Dubai. And steal enough fuel to make it to the rendezvous point with their new benefactor. That is, if a rebellion among the Azov’s crew of Russian conscripts doesn’t scuttle the entire mission.

On the run again, The Circle of Fire will have to navigate shifting alliances in yet another conflict zone. Doubt and deception may be their biggest obstacles in an unforgiving landscape where nothing and no one can be trusted. Not even the people they thought they knew.

The Circle of Fire: Book Five launches

I’m proud to announce that the fifth book in my action adventure series, The Circle of Fire, officially launches today. The name of the book is In Arabia. As it suggests, the characters will have adventures in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, when a mission the Emirati Navy sends them on turns out to not be what it seems with disastrous implications for the Azov and its crew.

A bit of a funny story of the inspiration behind the plot for In Arabia: Fly Dubai wrongfully denied me boarding on my flight back to Ljubljana when I traveling business class. That gave me the fire in the belly to make the Emiratis looks like complete assholes in this book! I started writing chapter one of it on the plane home the next day.

Anyway, I should also mention that this book will be launching at a special sale price of $0.99, down from the usual $4.99 for the ebook. Book one in The Circle of Fire series will also be free and the other books in the series will be $0.99 each as well. Grab them while you can before they all go up to $4.99 each on May fifth!

You can find the cover and the synopsis below:

The Azov and its crew have been granted safe harbor in the United Arab Emirates, but it comes with a catch. The Azov must go on a mission to Yemen. Its purpose? To assassinate the political leader of the Houthi rebels.

The Circle of Fire agrees to go, except for Farrukh, who strikes a deal with the Emirati command to stay behind in Dubai with his family. Their illusion of safety is quickly shattered by a brazen attack that forces them to go on the run in the unforgiving desert.

The Azov sets sail in the Gulf of Aden with Jan and Hafizullah in command. They are forced to take onboard a squad of arrogant Emirati commandos who outnumber the regular crew of Russian conscripts. When a mysterious drone takes aim at the ship, it is only the first sign that the real purpose of the voyage is not what it seems.

Kelly will question her own priorities as she is torn between joining the fight and safeguarding her young son on board the ship. Shifting alliances will undermine Jan’s authority and leave Hafizullah stranded on what appears to be a suicide mission.

The Circle of Fire must face the heavy guns of the Yemini forces, choose sides in Yemen’s civil war and confront heartless border guards who shoot to kill. The bonds of friendship will be tested in a world where there is nowhere else to turn.

The Circle of Fire series is available here.

The Fifth book in Poor Little Rich Kids Launches

The name of the book is ‘The Quest for the Holy Wine Glass‘. It’s a satire of the healthcare system, the lobby in Washington DC and a rollicking action-adventure story all rolled into one.

At the center of the story, stands a quest for a certain holy wine goblet. That’s been done, you may say. But I tell you, it’s never been done quite like this. Why? Because, despite setting my novels amid major political events, the is probably the most controversial and political thing I’ve written to date.

See, in this novel, it’s the anti-alcohol lobby in Washington that wants to get their hands on the Grail to use it for their own political ends, to stamp out the right of individual freedom to use and disregard medical advice as one chooses, or else face persecution at their hands with the backing of the government. I always have been a big believer in the individual freedom to buck trends that society — or the influencers in them — sets as being normatively good, when you believe otherwise. That’s all I’ve done for most of my life and I ended up a writer!

I felt that these things needed to be said, and I have used my platform here to tell them in narrative. In the end I am proud of myself for finding the courage to do so. I hope that you enjoy and think the same.

The Quest for the Holy Wine Glass will launch at the special promotion price of $0.99 through the 5th of November. Additionally, the other four books in the Poor Little Rich Kids series will be discounted as well. Book one in the series, The Testimony of Some Poor Little Rich Kids, will be free from Nov. 1st through Nov. 5th. Books two through five will $0.99 each for the same time.

Grab them while you can!

The synopsis is below:

The Holy Grail could change the world. But first, it will cause chaos in the lives of figure skaters Svetlana and Sasha Williamson.

In Bulgaria, Svetlana is feuding with their adoptive parents, functioning alcoholics who refuse to stay in rehab. Determined to get them sober, the Olympic gold medalist will put her skating career – and her brother’s future – on the line.

Sasha has moved to Spain to live with his girlfriend, Almerilla. Her family has a secret; they are part of a mysterious sect with a duty to protect religious artifacts. Sasha suddenly finds himself on a quest to save the Holy Grail from thieves who intend to use it for political purposes.

With the help of a hard-drinking Scottish Free Mason, Sasha and Almerilla track the Grail to the United States.  There, they are caught up in a struggle between the alcoholic beverage industry and a doctor who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the powerful symbolism of the chalice Jesus may have used at the Last Supper.

The Quest for the Holy Wine Glass will divide the family members and touch off an all-or-nothing legal battle over the rights of alcoholics. Svetlana and Sasha will find new enemies and allies as they fight for custody of the Grail and their individual freedom.

The Quest for the Holy Wine Glass is available here.

Set from late 2022 to early 2024, in book three Jan and Kelly have to navigate new lives in Poland and America after being separated against their will and taken from Afghanistan. Having lost their village to the Taliban, Farrukh and his family are left to fend for themselves in the migrant route to Europe — he also has to battle ISIS terrorists and drug runners who have a blood vendetta to carry out against him, Jan and Kelly.

This all goes on amid a sinister plan of a notorious American crime family plan to use the three of them in an plot to start a new drug and human trafficking route across the Atlantic and through the front lines of the Russia-Ukraine war.

As part of the launch sale, Book one, In Pakistan, will be free for the same amount of time. Book two, In Afghanistan will be $0.99 as well.

The synopsis of book three is below:

With their rebellion against the Taliban collapsing, Jan and Kelly have been airlifted from Afghanistan and separated against their will. They must navigate new lives in Europe and America, while their Afghan friends are left behind to fend for themselves.

Pregnant with Jan’s child, fifteen-year-old Kelly faces off against high school bullies and her self-obsessed mother, who demands that she get rid of the baby. Her only hope is to escape the United States and find her way to Jan in Poland. She embarks on a daring getaway with help from the son of a notorious Florida drug lord.

Jan finds new allies among the hard-partying Polish teenagers in his parents’ downtrodden hometown. But can he trust them? Jan finds out that he will have depend on his new Polish friends to back him up while he enlists in the Ukrainian army to help his Afghan friend trapped in the migrant route to Europe. He must survive the front lines long enough to find Kelly and outwit the criminals who have condemned her, the baby and his Afghan friend to a cruel fate.

Farrukh and his family have lost their village in the rebellion. They are at the mercy of Afghan drug runners and ISIS terrorists who have a blood vendetta against them. Desperate, he heads for Europe to find Jan, knowing that he will have to betray his friend to save the lives of his loved ones.

A new series launches

I am happy to announce that my latest action-adventure series officially launches today.

It’s called ‘The Circle of Fire.’

Starting in mid 2021, the series chronicles the a adventures of a teenaged boy and girl who get kidnapped from their comfortable expat lives in Karachi, Pakistan, by a disgraced Taliban fighter who is hell-bent on winning redemption in the eyes of his father, the Taliban’s leader.

Both of them will have to use all of their ingenuity to escape from their captors as any hope of rescue dwindles away. Then a shocking reveal about their fathers’ true lives, and a botched US withdrawal from Afghanistan means that their only hope may be learning how to survive in the Taliban’s Afghanistan.

As part of the launch I am running a sale on the two ebooks in the series:

Book One: In Pakistan, will be free from May 3rd through May 7th.

Book Two: In Afghanistan, will be $0.99 for the same period of time, down from the regular price of $4.99.

Grab them while you can!

I am already done with a draft of the third book in the series, Forced Migrations. I’d tell you more about it, but that would give away a lot of spoilers for the first two books. Beyond that, I have another two books planned for this series; that should round out my new publications for this year.

I may, however, return to the ‘Poor Little Rich Kids’ series to write what will be book five in that series, first. It will be the first of a number of works following the adventures of Sasha and Almerilla as part of a secret organization that tracks down and protects ancient holy artifacts. It’s called ‘Sasha, Almerilla and the Quest for the Holy Wine Glass.’

That’s all for now, except to say enjoy The Circle of Fire, Books One and Two!

Another Audiobook by Andrew Is Out

On the heels of my release of the audiobook of ‘The Testimony of Some Poor Little Rich Kids,’ I am pleased to announce that the second book that I wrote in the series, a novella called ‘Murder in La Ciudad del Ingles,’ is now available as an audiobook, read by me, as well.

The story follows the further adventures of Luka as he leaves his newfound family in Bulgaria to take part in a language teaching program in Spain. Following two successive murders in the town where the program is taking place, suspicion spreads among the participants, causing Luka, the ever hard-to-be-bothered curmudgeon, to try to solve the case if he is to save his own skin.

You can start listening to ‘Murder in La Ciudad del Ingles’ Here.

Two murders. A missing child. And a killer searching for the treasure of the Knights Templar.

As a native English speaker, Luka Williamson isn’t expecting much from La Ciudad del Ingles. He has volunteered to spend one week talking with Spaniards who want to improve their English, in exchange for a free vacation at a luxury resort in the countryside.

The program begins with a tour of La Alberca, a nearby UNESCO heritage town where a sacred pig roams the streets and the shops sell loins of jamón for tourists to take home. But the local history lesson quickly takes a back seat when a postal worker is found murdered in an alleyway near the town’s main church.

The language program participants are told to ignore the crime. The only witness: a local girl with a mysterious background. She tries to tell Luka what she has seen, begging him to team up with her to find the killer.

While tracking the strange nocturnal activities in the resort villas, Luka realizes that anyone in the program – including the organizers – could be a suspect or the next victim. His suspicions are deepened by the shocking announcement of another killing. The only clue: a skull inscribed with the loyalty vow of the Knights Templar.

Ancient oaths collide with modern conspiracies as the killer makes another bold move. Luka must solve the mystery to find his way home.

Testimony of Some Poor Little Rich Kids Audiobook

I am pleased to announce that an audobook version of my literary action-adventure series, ‘The Testimony of Some Poor Little Rich Kids,’ is now available for sale on Amazon, Ibooks and wherever Audible audiobooks are sold.

The ‘Testimony of Some Poor Little Rich Kids’ follows the adventures of Luka Williamson, a self-described curmudgeon, and some newfound Bulgarian friends as they try to get a little street girl from Bulgaria to safety from the Bulgarian mafia in Slovenia, causing them to go off the grid and on a mad dash through the Balkans.

The book told exclusively from Luka’s — a semi-autobiographical character’s — perspective and read by the author.

You can start listening to ‘The Testimony of Some Poor Little Rich Kids,’ Here.

As always, the same story is available in ebook format for $4.99 and as a print book for a grater cost.

Thirty-year-old Luka Williamson is a self-absorbed jerk who has life pretty easy. He lives rent-free in his parents’ vacation apartment in Slovenia and writes books full-time. He has no day job, no friends — and enough family money to not care.

When his nosy parents start renovating the apartment’s bathroom, Luka decides to take a vacation from his first-world problems. Generally honked off about the post-pandemic world of 2022, he heads for Plovdiv, Bulgaria. His plans for a solitary drinking binge are upended by a chance meeting with group of well-connected Bulgarians. He’s invited to party with them.

He strikes up a casual-sex relationship with Iliana, a spoiled hipster from a powerful local family. She wants to use Luka to get revenge on the mobster ex-boyfriend who dumped her. But when a beat-up homeless child begs for their help, the plan takes an unexpected turn. Over Iliana’s objections Luka decides to take the little girl in.

Only then do they learn that ten-year-old Svetlana is the property of the Bulgarian mafia. The child also has a secret that could bring down organized crime in Eastern Europe. The mob will stop at nothing to silence her forever.

Suddenly, the entitled rich kids are running for their lives and forced to go off the grid: no smartphones, credit cards or luxury cars. They must now experience life as homeless migrants, learning survival skills from a child less than half their age. Along the way they gain another young traveling companion – a Ukrainian refugee boy with secrets of his own.

On a mad dash through the Balkans, they must stay one step ahead of corrupt border police and a vengeful gangster. They must risk everything to get Svetlana to safety in Slovenia. But their mission could be doomed to failure unless they learn the hardest lesson of all – the price and importance of caring for someone else.
