Achieving Tranquility in Life

I started my writing journey after retiring as a full-time social worker in 2015. My goal was to write a novel. I figured that because I like to read, I’d also be able to write a book. I was right. After a few online classes with a university, I wrote my first novel, When Shadows Linger. After a few months of submitting my manuscript to publishers and agents, two factors influenced my decision to self-publish. The first was my age and the second was having a lack of patience. Either I didn’t get a response, or I got a rejection. After some research, I turned to Amazon’s KDP publishing. (Kindle Direct Publishing). And so, my journey into the world of writing began. I subsequently published a sequel to the first novel and two novelettes. In 2021 I wrote a nonfiction book, and my newest publication is a journal. (I’ve written a series of articles about going to school later in life for a social work magazine, and I have also had two short stories published).

As a therapist, I strongly recommend writing to my clients. Not only is journaling a powerful tool to use for working through both past and present issues, but so is creative writing. As someone who deals with anxiety on a personal level, I can attest to the fact that writing has helped me work through stress and grief.

I would like to share my journey with you. With the purchase of my journal, An inspirational and gratitude journal from the author of Words from a mother in mourning. How to protect your child from drugs, I will give you three thirty-minute classes on how writing can help you deal with life’s stressors. The classes will be one- on-one on Zoom or Face Time. There is no cost or obligation.
