Alternate Peace Anthology

I've read several of the anthologies produced by Zombies Needs Brains and enjoyed all, but this one didn't quite live up to the other ones. There are some good stories here, yet I wasn't quite as fulfilled as with the other anthologies.

Ooo Rah! Nailed it! What a tale of adventure. Chakraborty's Amina al-Sirafi adventures could be the modern day equivelent of Sinbad the Sailor and 1001 Arabian Nights. Maybe she's Queen Scheherazade reincarnated (no offense intended).

Gimme more.

For me this is more a 2.5 than 3 star read. I'm not fully engaged in the characters or the story and the constant repetition of questioning potentially unrequited love between the two main characters. I find this a distraction rather than a reason to ...more

I give 3-stars only because I suspect Aster fans will enjoy the story. However, as with Oro, the narration is over done and repetitive for me. I don't need 50 pages of how someone is in love or how the person they're in love affects them. There is so ...more
