Book Release time!It’s true, I’m not dead. In fact, my alter ego (Pierce Grey) has been a very busy boy.

I sort of feel like I should be shooting one of those Brandon Sanderson surprise videos because well…I have written TEN books in this series. Yep. Ten finished. And I’m working on eleven. So literally every 2 months for the next year or two, there is going to be a new book released on Amazon in this series. I’m also working with Royal Guard publishing for the series, so they’ll all be getting audiobooks with both male and female narrators.

That’s basically it. Now go buy the book and enjoy yourself, you filthy animal. These are a blast to write and have really helped keep me going as I busily home-school two little girls in a foreign land.

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve got big news…I’ll get straight to it.

I’ve been writing a new series under a pen name. Yes, that’s me.

The Name: Pierce Grey 
The Series: The First Great Game

What does that mean? Well…

Would you like to read brand new fiction by yours truly? You can, right now, in a couple ways:

1) Royal Road. You click the link, you start reading. For free. It’s that simple. But if you do, I would love if you gave the story a follow and a rating.

3) Scribblehub. It’s basically like Royal Road, so I’ll put the link if you happen to be using it now, or for some reason wanted an alternative.

A COUPLE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

There’s a reason I’m writing this under a pen name.

1) It’s very different than what I’ve written before. It’s a mix of a fairly new genres called ‘Litrpg’, which has video-game elements in a sci-fi/fantasy story. And harem, which is uh, well, smutty.

2) There are sex scenes, quite a lot of them as the story progresses. So if you’re not into that, I totally understand. If you are into them, you’re going to love this.

The Bad News

The next Beyond Ash and Sand book is going to wait a little while. I’d love to get to it next year, but we shall see.

The trilogy is at last complete on audio! Our wise and benevolent master audible delayed us a few days, but nevermind. Thanks as ever to those who’ve been waiting patiently, I hope the quality (and consistency) of the excellent narrator Ralph Lister was worth the wait. I intend to create the audiobook for Dark Sea’s End this year, but probably closer to the end. I think I’ll do a writing update post separately, so until then, stay warm and healthy and kind my friends. I hope you enjoy the audiobook.

Friends, Romans, audiophiles – the long wait is over. Kings of Ash is available as an audiobook on Audible in one week – December 15. Even better news? Well, just as good? The Kings of Heaven audiobook is ALSO finished, and will be released one month later, or January 15, 2022, and the trilogy will be complete.

Genuine thanks to everyone who kept bothering me to make this happen. Hearing my words narrated by the incomparable Ralph Lister is truly a bizarre and wonderful milestone, and I hope you all enjoy the experience as much as I did. Oh! And to whet your appetites, a 5 minute sample below. I’ll announce the release and provide the link on December 15, so not to worry.

Hi everyone. First of all, today’s the day! Dark Sea’s End, the first book of a new (sequel) trilogy, drops today as an ebook. Go buy it here!

 

Paperback will follow in the next couple weeks, and I hope to do audio before the end of the year. This book (and series) will expand the Ash and Sand world considerably – bringing new characters, and even new continents, to the already chaotic landscape. Through the eyes of several new exciting characters, and at the side of a few old ones, come see what lies Beyond Ash and Sand…

Right, so what the hell am I working on now? Well, several things. My ‘strategy’ over the next year or two is to go back and forth between Ash and Sand, and then totally unrelated projects. Next up is a kind of ‘progression’ fantasy story about a young man descending into a demonic pit beneath his hometown to save his friends. It’s a bit comedy (yes, I make jokes), a bit fantasy horror, with a dash of Diablo (the video game) inspiration. Oh and there’s a talking sword and a baby dragon, as well as a six-legged horse demon. I’m sure it will all make perfect sense in the end.

After that, it’s back to Beyond Ash and Sand, with the next installment in the trilogy. I intend to release both books before the end of 2022.

Hi everyone – time for an official update. But first, thanks so much for the support and many notes since the release of Kings of Heaven. The end of the series was for me a six year journey in the concluding, and I’m glad the story has stuck with many of you in the same way.

Writing Update

As one story ends, another begins. You may have noticed there’s a lot of unknowns in the Ash and Sand universe. Well, in my mind, there was always more story to tell, and I am now nearly finished another book in the same world, tentatively titles Dark Sea’s End. It does not require that you’ve read Ash and Sand, but it will certainly bring additional enjoyment if you have. The book will be released in ebook/paperback around May/June of this year! I’ll let you know when there’s a firmer release, and give a few more details before that.

Dark Sea’s End brings back a couple favorite characters, and introduces a few new ones. It takes place nearly at the immediate end of Kings of Heaven, and is directly related to Ruka’s final plans at the monastery…I’ll leave it there.

I’ve started a new place for you to support or interact with me, at a place called Locals. It’s a bit like Patreon, if you’ve heard of that, and I have a variety of plans for it. Going forward, I’ll be posting videos there reviewing my favorite books, chatting with other authors (and bloggers), or just recommending books/tv/music/nonsense. Sometimes, I’ll probably just rant. I’ll also be posting early samples of my work, stopping by to chat, and just interacting more frequently with anyone so inclined. If you haven’t checked out my flintlock fantasy world, now is the time. I’ve released both previous novellas (Rebellion of the Black Militia and Devil of the 22nd) in a single book, now with an absolutely stunning cover from STK Kreations (Shawn King).

For those of you unfamiliar, this is a new (but related…) world to the Ash and Sand stories. I’ll be creating a new trilogy with this after Kings of Heaven is finished and released January 2020. I intend to have the first book in the God King Chronicles ready by the end of next year, with maybe another prequel novella before that.
