Mostly, I try to stick to a two-page/day writing schedule, which may not sound all that impressive but really adds up. That way, even if I'm not feeling super inspired, I just have to get through two pages, which I can always come back and edit (or rewrite) later. Getting up and moving around can also help, so sometimes, if I'm really struggling, I use my writing time to go for a walk, often with music, which can really help get the ideas flowing. Finally, taking some time to do something else that inspires you--reading a book, going to a movie, visiting a museum--can refuel your creative tank for your next writing session.(less)

Rejections are a part of the process, and while they might mean that you need to revisit your novel with a more critical eye or work on some aspect of your writing, they shouldn't define your feelings about yourself as a writer. I'm a huge advocate for continuing education, however. If you find that you're getting the same kind of rejections over and over again, pay attention. Sign up for a class or a workshop; join a critique group; stay informed about the current marketplace. But don't give up. I recently saw a meme that I absolutely love: "Your book has a birthday. You just don't know what it is yet."(less)
