I was born to travel! My parents took me on my first trip when I was just three years old and I have been on the go ever since! I always knew I wanted to be a journalist or a travel writer. I decided to pursue a career as a travel writer because I felt I would see more of the world--and I have! I have traveled to every continent and lived all over the world, including Oahu, Hilton Head, and London.

My favorite places are the South Carolina Lowcountry, Africa (especially East and South), and London. While I love all travel, my favorite kind is adventure travel. I have enjoyed all kinds of adventures, including hot-air ballooning over the Northern Serengeti, camping in the Himalayas, scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, hiking Peru's Inca T

I would rather clean out my gutters than write. On those rare occasions, I give in and let go. I work on book promotions, such as social media, or outline my next book project. Or I go to the movies or play with my dog. If I fight it, I know it won't be a productive writing session. This will make me more stressed and frustrated and lead to it taking longer to get back on track.

I have read that one of the best things to do if you have writer's block is to try a creative writing exercise. Also, consider it a 'win' if you get something on paper. This means not being overly critical or over analyzing your writing. There's time to play editor later after you have gotten your groove back.(less)

It is great to connect with folks who appreciate your work. I like being able to work at home, which also means I don't have a uniform or have to wear dress clothes. I like setting my own hours. Actually, I work longer hours than many people I know but they are not 9 - 5. Sometimes I get an idea and start writing (in my pajamas) at 2 a.m. or write for ten hours straight. But what I like most, I suppose, is the creative process. I am a creative person and love the writing process. Once I have an idea, I'm on fire to see it through to fruition. I love turning one blank piece of paper into a book. It's an indescribable feeling when I unwrap the proof copy sent by the publisher's production department or when the actual copies arrive from the printer. I did it! I did this! That's the best thing about being a writer.(less)

“A writer needs to write and a reader wants to read so this creates a symbiotic relationship, at least most of the time.”
Terrance Zepke, Lowcountry Voodoo: Beginner's Guide to Tales, Spells and Boo Hags

“The two continued spending time together, as Elliot had also asked. But without Elliot’s presence, the pair was unable to deny the strong feelings they’d had since their first meeting. Finally, Robert could stand it no more.
“I think I should leave town. Someone else can serve as Elliot’s best man. I don’t think I’m suited to the honor, anyway,” Robert quietly stated.
“That’s probably best,” Anna murmured. The two continued staring at each other, consumed with the presence of the other. “But, I don’t think I could bear that,” she added.
With that simple statement, she had let her feelings be known, and that resulted in a release of emotions Robert could not fight.

Deadly Duel”
