Genna Rowbotham was born in Sheffield. Inspired by her children, in 2017, she wrote her first story and is now the author of ten books, as well as a short story published in the 'Brilliant Brainz' magazine. Genna has a passion for writing stories that entertain, educate, and inspire children, allowing them to escape the seriousness of life and enter a world of magic.
She lives in Derbyshire with her husband, three youngest daughters, and two lively dogs named Harry and Benji. Her house is full of books, magazines, dog toys and all sorts of artwork from the girls (empty cereal boxes are often taken from the recycle bin to reinvent something wonderful like a spy camera or a telescope).

Although I do sometimes get writer’s block when I’m in the middle of a new creation and I’m still developing the plotline. For me, asking myself questions on the story always helps. If the answer doesn’t come straight away, I take a break from writing and then I’ll have a ‘ping’ moment (usually last thing at night or first thing in the morning) when I instinctively know how to fix something that isn’t working or where the stories heading.(less)

Writing isn’t always easy and it’s very time-consuming – but as a busy Mum, I love the flexibility of working my own hours. But most of all, I love the world of books and I love writing.
