Mick Morris is a musician and writer based in the South East of England. He was educated at Dover Grammar School for Boys, Mid-Kent College, and the University of Kent at Canterbury (UKC).

Mick has always written, mostly short stories, poems and academic texts, but until 2017, his published work had been confined to strictly musical avenues: songs, CDs, articles for music magazines and the guitar tutor book `Play Straight Away'.

In 2017, he decided to publish a small book about the limerick as a form of poetry. `The Life of The Limerick' proved very popular and, encouraged by its success, he followed up with `Six-String Stories', a compendium of quotes, anecdotes and short stories about the guitar and those that play it. 2. Grab a notebook and go to my favourite bar

Then you've got a choice.

1. Sit quiet and alone, let your mind wander over the issue, but don't try too hard. Sometimes it helps to draw a `decision tree' which I find can help to show up inconsistencies and reveal options.

2. Talk to a friend about the problem. Listen carefully for clues in his observations.

Either way, make notes. Don't rely on memory. Repeat the above as often as necessary.(less)

The working title is, `Don't give up the day job'.

I don't always have a clearly defined book project on the go, but I store away anything that could be useful - poems, short stories, any random ideas about characters, themes, places, dialogue, etc. In my experience, not much gets wasted.(less)

“Everyone wants you to join their tribe but I don't like tribes. Everything about them is wrong. Whether it's religion, football or political parties, they exist only to save people having to think for themselves. Or to rescue those who couldn't do that anyway. They're dangerous and stupid and the cause of most of the world's ills in my opinion.”

“I don't know about you, but I don't like to be told what or how to think. The truth is, I like to reinvent the wheel sometimes, cherry picking is one of my greatest pleasures and deciding how much cake to eat now or leave for another time gives me huge satisfaction. These other guys don't know what they're missing!”
