Wolverhampton Literature Festival

I already have my first author event of 2025 under my belt! And what a smasher it was!

I returned to Wolverhampton LitFest with a brand new event (Briony Marshall: Behind the Seams) and this time around I even got my publisher involved! We decided to bring the ending of my newest novel, Hooked, to life with a crochet catwalk. It was an absolute blast. Thanks again to my runway models and everyone who helped make this one happen. You’re all stars.

This one is a biggie! MY BOOKS ARE ON THE SHELVES IN WATERSTONES WOLVERHAMPTON!!!!

That’s right, my local Waterstones are stocking my books!!!! I’m still blown away by the fact that this is even a thing! Proud is an understatement.

All I have to say is if you put in the hard work my lovelies it pays off!

On my 2025 bookish bingo card I really wanted to join a book club. I signed up for interest in Chapter 25 last year, in March I got the txt to say they were starting a local club for me and I was lucky enough to nab a space! My third meeting is next week and I’ve already met some really lovely people and read some books I would have never even thought to pick up. So it’s doing all the book club things and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Chapter 25 for making one of bookish girl dreams a reality!

A pleasure as always, I got to meet up with my publisher back in March and hammer out our plan for the rest of the year. Let me tell you, it’s a good one. Book 4 has been given the green light. (Whoop whoop!) So I’m currently in the very infancy stages of that. And some projects that have been bubbling along in the background are finally taking shape. Eek! Watch this space guys. Things are a moving and shaking!

I’ve full embraced the world of TikTok/ Reels!

Yes, as you can probably tell from this post, I finally took the plunge into the world of video content creation. I’ve even put my face on there quite a bit… !!! I know, right?! Who is this girl? 2025 Briony is killing it!

I’m hosting my own *two hour* author event in just over a week!

An evening with Briony Marshall is happening on Tuesday 20th May and you’re all invited!

I’ve been loving reading on my kindle recently. Plus I discovered Prime Reading which has opened up a whole new world of books for me. I’ve just finished Time Traveling with a Hamster by Ross Welford.

Colossus obviously had to get involved for this one!

As they followed their plans, they couldn’t help but change as people. Would they realise their resolutions and still be friends by the end of it all?”

Spring has officially sprung!

For me this year the longer darker days seemed to have dragged a little. So it’s nice to have a lighter brighter feeling in the air.

It might also have something to do with the fact that I’ve been able to remove my editing cap once more… but that would be telling.

Summer looks set to be a good one. That’s all I’m saying.

2023 – what a year!

2023 was a big year for me in my author-verse but also behind the scenes…

: Wolverhampton Literature Festival

I had From Rags to Richie’s paperback release, accompanied by my event at Wolverhampton Literature Festival.

I was a guest speaker at Creative Support and got to meet Listening Books. Learning so much more about audiobooks and what they can bring to the reading community.

I did my first ever craft fair stall at a Christmas Light Switch on and got to feel like a local celebrity. (Plus look at that setup… I was very pleased with myself for that one!)

But running along side all of that author goodness, I also moved house!

I set myself the task of learning how to decorate and renovate and DIY. Beginning my new adventure of turning my new house into my dream home. It’s still a work in progress and I’ll never get bored. (Not that I gave myself much opportunity for that before! ) But I’m super proud of myself and hubby. Annnnd I can’t wait to finally have an office space where all the author magic can happen. Eek! It’s loading guys, I can’t wait to share it with you all. This dream has been a long time coming…

Oh and I lasted approximately three months without a fur baby.

So I am also now officially a hamster Mom! I apologise in advance to my followers on my other platforms. I promise to try and keep the hamster content under control. But she’s just so cute!

So with 2023 being the action packed adventure that it was, what does 2024 have in store? I totally hear you ask…

Well, I’ve definitely started the year off strong…

I celebrated my 9 year blogversary on January 1st! Which genuinely feels insane. I can’t believe I’ve been living my dream for 9 years already?!

I’ve already had a meeting with my publisher! And the creative train is steaming well ahead with book plans for 2024!

And for something a little different, I’ve been a guest on BingleBangBang’s Podcast, talking about all things 2-player games. You can find the link to that one here.

So yeah, not bad I feel for a month and 8 days.

Now January blues are out the way and we find ourselves in the season of lurrve, I hope you’re all doing fabulously well and looking forward to the longer brighter days ahead and the bags of potential 2023 has to give!

Me? I’ve been having a whale of a time these last few weeks and with so many exciting things happening, I thought it was time for a pitstop. So grab a cuppa and let’s catch up!

Thank you to all who came to my event as part of Wolverhampton LitFest on the 4th Feb. We had a blast! Despite a few hiccups along the way, my event was a huge success! And most importantly, from the feedback I’ve received, everyone had a fantastic time. Special shoutout to my team for the day and the LitFest staff for all their help, support, time and effort. My show went by super smoothly after all and it wasn’t without the help from all of you amazing souls. Here’s a few pictures for those that couldn’t make it. I feel they capture the essence of the day perfectly.

Yes you read that right, From Rags to Richie is finally available in paperback! I was so happy to be able to tie in the launch of my with my first event of the year as a little surprise bonus for everyone who could make it to LitFest. It made the day even more special. A new rebrand is coming…

Speaking of new headshots, they’re a part of my rebranding. Now that I’m a two book author (?!) I feel a rebrand is well overdue. As much as I have loved and adored the Unravelled aesthetic, it’s time to not have a bias. I’m not just marketing one book anymore, but myself as an author. (I know, right? I’ve had to put my big girl pants on for this one! ) So you’ll start to see signs of it pop up over the coming months, watch this space! Some of the more eagle-eyed among you may have already spotted a few bits and pieces. I have a huge overhaul in the pipeline. But with big personal life things happening alongside all of this (more on that as it develops!) I’m not going to pressure myself with a deadline that I may not be able to keep. So we’re going with a casual blend. But come along on the journey with me, it’s going to be a bit of a metamorphosis. A definite milestone in my author journey, it’s going to be a good one.

I went on holiday to the forest and took the opportunity to make some content!

January was also mine and Liam’s first wedding anniversary. And to celebrate we went on a super romantic getaway to a cabin in the woods. I, of course, also took this as an opportunity to make some content for you guys. If you haven’t found me on TikTok yet, now is the time! (You can find me HERE.) As I’ve been jumping on those trends and having some fun with it. Also, I was able to set up the perfect shot for a little taster of what life would be like this Valentine’s Day with Richie Clarke (my new romantic lead) … you’re welcome.

Hello everyone, I’m back! Finally, after what feels like forever, with some exciting news… I’m doing an author event next month.

That’s right… a real life, in person, author event! And what better place for me to have my comeback, than my old stomping ground, the Wolverhampton Literature Festival!

I’ve written a sketch that plays homage to the iconic 90’s show Blind Date, but given it a unique Briony twist. I’m promising entertainment, romance and lorra lorra laughs. It’s not one to miss out on!
