The defining feature of my life is a duality: I have absorbed Western culture and lived in the West in my youth, but I was born an East Indian and lived most of my life in India and Bangladesh. I have lived the great divide that exists between these two worlds, and in the broader sense, between all races and cultures. I am uniquely positioned to appreciate the distinct identity of the various races of the world, an identity that encompasses the soul of a folk.
