The Power of Simplicity

2018 has been a pretty cool year for me. Released a book, toured the world, made a new album. With all that, one of my biggest takeaways has been experiencing the power of simplicity… My creative brain loves to come up with (and create!) a million different ideas. I love this about myself, but I am also starting to enjoy the power of focusing on one or two things really well. In 2019, I am so excited to give more of my focus to my first love: the music!

That means…clearing the deck. Eliminating. Simplifying. I stepped away from The REL Show recently, and while I miss the interaction, I am at peace knowing that was the best choice for me. Moving ahead, I will be simplifying a few other things-one of them being my online class for aspiring musicians, Rockstar Crash Course. RCC has helped so many beginning musicians find their way, and I’m delighted at the impact it has had. Enrollment for Rockstar Crash Course will close at the end of this year, but members will have access to the material for life-and who knows, I may even open it back up again in the future!

Starting off my year of simplicity in this way lets me give my very best to new music making and touring the world. SO much good stuff to come!

What to do When You’re Feeling Numb

Happy Friday, friends!

I hope you are having a great start to your weekend!

This week’s REL Show is an answer to a viewer question, “What are some tips for countering those days when I feel disconnected from myself, hollow and unmotivated?”

Watch this week’s episode to hear my answer to this important question!

Much love,

Ariel

How much is enough??

Hello friends!

As we start the last quarter of the year, we’re getting into the season where everyone seems a little more stressed…a time when we’re doing a lot more working, traveling, and/or shopping and a lot less relaxing!

Most of us lead stressful lives because we are always pushed to the max, working and keeping up. What if it doesn’t have to be that way?

In today’s episode, I’m discussing ways we can live a little more simply, by letting go of some habits that may not serve us well.

I hope you keep these ideas in mind in the coming week, and take some time to just enjoy your surroundings!

Much love,

Ariel

Allowing Yourself to Feel

Hello friends!

Here on The REL Show, we’ve been talking a lot about brain hacking, and how to use our thoughts to change our emotions. This has been life-changing for so many of you, and that’s why this week I decided to share a slightly different perspective.

Yes, we can use the power of our thinking to help us chose the emotions we want, but there is a balance to all that intentionality.

The truth of the matter is, sometime we just aren’t going to feel great.

And you know what? That is expected, and more than okay.

Just because we know that our thoughts create our feelings, doesn’t mean we should never experience pain, or sadness, or regret. We are human beings having a human experience, and that includes all emotions available to us. This is good news.

In today’s episode, I’m discussing what to do when an overwhelming emotion starts to take over, and-hint-it doesn’t involve changing the thoughts or the emotion.

I hope you keep these ideas in mind in the coming week, and remember to love all parts of yourself!

Much love,

Ariel

How to STOP watching TV, Netflix, and Hulu, etc. (I Quit TV!!! Here’s how!)

Hello friend,

Earlier this summer, I decided to do something crazy: I quit TV.

Not just TV, all movies, shows, Netflix, YouTube videos…I quit them all!

If you’re wondering WHY ON EARTH anyone would want to do that….well, you’ll have to watch the episode to find out.

And if you’re a little curious on HOW to do it, then you’ll definitely want to stop everything and watch this.

Quitting TV has greatly improved my quality of life-I have more free time, more head space, and I feel more alive inside my own life, instead of mentally living in someone else’s. I hope this episode inspires you to try going 1 whole week without any TV/movies/shows! You can do it.

Rock on,
Ariel

Are you settling for average?

Happy September! Hope it’s off to a great start.

Let me ask you something: Are you phoning it in in any area of your life? Is there a part of you that knows you can be showing up more fully, but you’re just sorta putting out average effort?

We all do this sometimes. I have been searching to identify those areas of average in my own life, and I am totally finding them!  I am also identifying that that is not how I want to live my life-and I hope you don’t either.

Watch this week’s video and then pick one thing you are going to UP YOUR GAME in, and live up to your full potential in that area.

Leave me a comment on YouYube letting me know where you are gonna stop settling for average!

Love,

Ariel

How To Stop Dreading Your Future

FALL IS HEREEEEE!!!!

And I have a pumpkin spice candle in my office to prove it, you guys.

I know August isn’t quite over, but I am getting so excited about Fall that I’m just gonna start enjoying it now. But with as much as I love Fall, it brings with it its terrible sibling…winter.

And because (as those of you who’ve been with me for a while know) ev

ery year I seek to enjoy and not dread the arrival of winter, I’ve been working on how to eliminate dread in all areas of my future.

So I want to ask you: Where are you looking into your future and feeling any sort of tension, anxiety, or dread?

The future is a mental construct that lives in our imagination-that’s it.

So anytime we aren’t making it awesome, that’s on us, and we can change it!

Watch today’s episode to learn how to stop dreading your future and create something amazing.

Much love, Ariel

Increasing My Capacity for Happiness!

Hello darlings!

Today’s episode comes from the beautiful Asheville, North Carolina, where I am sharing the work I am doing to increase my capacity for joy. Does that sound fun or what?!

As I explain in the video, we can see external changes by first imagining a slightly better life for ourselves -which is internal work. This is the process of expanding your ideas about what is possible for you. It yields amazing results but it’s not always comfortable-because to get out of our current comfort zone (to grow!) means there will be discomfort involved.

I am of the philosophy that life is full of discomfort anyway, so we might as well pick the discomfort that comes from expansion, instead of the discomfort that comes from not living up to our potential.

Enjoy the episode, and have a beautiful weekend! I’ll be giving my keynote speech at CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference this weekend and am super pumped for that!

Much love,

Ariel

“I’m not attractive enough” – Self-Esteem & Body Image (The Work)

For many of us, the struggle with body image and self-acceptance is heartbreakingly real. That’s why it was so important to me to answer today’s viewer question:

“Thank you, Ariel for making The Work samples super accessible and down to earth; can you please give us more examples around body image, relationships, etc?” -Felipe Garcia

What a great question! On today’s episode, I am diving into self esteem as it pertains to our physical appearance, and together we question this belief:

I am not attractive enough.

If you’ve ever felt that way, you cannot afford to miss this episode babe. Once you have freedom in this area of your life, you will feel unstoppable and ready to take on the world.

Please take a few minutes out of your day and watch this video to feel immediate relief and freedom from any negative thoughts you may have about your physical appearance. It WORKS!

You’re worth it.

Love,

Ariel
