I swim laps every morning (or as many mornings as a I can), and it completely clears my mind. Most of the time, I'll have my breakthroughs there and talk into my phone (in a google doc) in the car afterwards, so I can get all my ideas out and not forget them.(less)

But the biggest inspiration always comes from something in real life that scares me. If it freaks me out, and I can't get it out of my head, I try to channel that into a story or film. If I can end up scaring myself, then I have a good chance of scaring someone else.(less)
