Alcy Leyva is a Bronx-born writer, teacher, and pizza enthusiast. He graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in English (Creative Writing) and received an MFA in Fiction from The New School. Sure you get all of that, but it's a goregous city. It's a city that isn't for everyone. I wanted to write a story about trying to survive this city under the most stressful circumstances.

I love Grey as a character. I've always wanted to explore what happens when a person who has inner demons is forced to deal with the manifestations of those creatures.

I also love the idea of a female anti-hero. A scoundrel. She's the last person that should be in charge of saving the world, which makes her the perfect person to be in that situation.(less)
