All of those things swirled around my head for ages and then one night, while my wife and I celebrated our three year anniversary of being boyfriend and girlfriend, we were drinking vodka and cokes, eating takeaway currys, and watching Big Boi videos, when the idea for a road trip book about the 1968 election being contested between John Wayne and Bobby Kennedy jumped into my brain. The initial idea changed a whole lot in the interim 7-ish years, but that was the original spark of inspiration. (less)

This was insanely good. It's been a while since I've read a Batman comic this strong. The last one was probably The Batman's Grave, which had my favourite version of Alfred but was unfortunately written by a creep, so we won't get any follow-ups.
