Thank you for asking, Diane!

I plan to have a local launch in Asheville, NC on the publication date, as well as a few signings in the months that follow.

My publisher, Inkshares, will take care of bookstore placement and a press release will be circulated to various outlets. ARCs are in the process of being printed, and will be shared in the coming weeks.

I also share updates on my twitter account (@JCastleWrites), and will plan to host a Goodreads giveaway in the month of August. (less)

Some days, I challenge myself with a timer, set it for twenty or forty minutes, and force myself to write until it beeps. Some of my best scenes have emerged that way, and often I shut off the beeping and keep on writing. Other days, music does the trick. I have a playlist I turn to when setting the mood for particular scenes. I also find that when I read for ten to twenty minutes before I start writing, that I am more inspired and ready to write. The Life Impossible by Matt Haig
“People say that love is rare. I am not so sure. What is rare is something even more desirable. Understanding. There is no point in being loved if you are not understood. They are simply loving an idea of you they have in their mind. They are in love with love. They are in love with their loving. To be understood. And not only that, but to be understood and appreciated once understood. That is what matters.”

A treat for fans of the macabre. A haunting, exhilarating exploration into the mind and influence of a master. Like a black cat, Edgar endears itself to you with wit and whimsy.

“I knew the fear was necessary. Fear protected, fear ensured survival. Fear was the evolutionary instinct embedded in each of us, the instinct that told us to freeze when we heard a rattlesnake, or halt when we came to a cliff’s edge. Yes, the Board used that fear, but it was worth the price. Security was our reward.”
