I knew I had a riveting story, but I wasn't sure I was ready to send it out to the world. In 2012 a trauma therapist suggested I write a book. He thought it might help me heal. I listened. I dug out my journals, old photos, spent time on Google Earth, and wrote and rewrote. The process was cathartic. It helped me to put my mountaineering accident into perspective and to understand how it had shaped my life. I realized that my story might also be of benefit to others. I hope his book will inspire others to live their most important dreams and to find the courage and strength to heal whatever ails or haunts them. (less)

“Life is short. Live you dreams now!”
Jean Muenchrath, If I Live Until Morning: A True Story of Adventure, Tragedy and Transformation

“It’s the human condition to judge everything and to compare ourselves to others, but doing so leads to the deluded thinking that one is either superior or inadequate.”
Jean Muenchrath, If I Live Until Morning: A True Story of Adventure, Tragedy and Transformation

“Our secret disaster had kept me from feeling supported and fully recovering. Ken was a master at avoiding the painful aspects of his life; he denied their existence to himself by not acknowledging them.”
