If you've done your prep--your reading, your listening, taking notes while you're LIVING, and not just while you're at the desk--you can hit the pen/keyboard hot every time. Don't work until you have something to say; something you've kneaded in your mind and are desperate to get out. The work is in making that "something" into well-written prose. The work is plumbing. The WRITING is planning the job.(less)

Nick’s Recent Updates

Nick liked a quote
Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
“When she thought of that long night, it was like remembering an extraordinarily tough match where she’d prevailed. Except there was no trophy or applause. The only recognition you got for surviving a night like that came from other mothers. Only they understood the epic nature of your trivial achievements.”
Liane Moriarty
Nick and 291 other people liked MarilynW's review of Apples Never Fall:
Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
"Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty (Author), Caroline Lee (Narrator)

This story looked so interesting but several of my friends started and didn't finish the book so I was apprehensive about giving the audiobook a try because it comes in at 18 hours " Read more of this review »

“I thought of something Puppa used to say. "The human brain can only contain thirty years of memory. Ten years of childhood. Ten years of adolescence. Ten years of early adulthood. After that, it's all as one day, and that day is spent solely in reflection.”

“Puppa had saved me again—this time, by way of fart.”
Nick Yetto, Sommelier of Deformity

“He'd clearly tapped into something: into a longing, held in the bosom of every New Yorker, to get out of New York City! I realized the power of this theme and adapted it to my purpose.”

Thanks Robert. I've been to Prince Edward Island! It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been--and where I had the best meals of my life. I've always wanted to go back.

I'll check out "What Lies Within." Looks excellent. (Nice website, by the way).
