Lucien tries his best.

While failing in the whole "self-promotion" aspect of being an indie author, Lucien has shifted his goals to writing what he likes and hoping the right people find his work. Usually based around the anime-inspired lightnovel format or writing about furry-adjacent characters in fantasy, Lucien enjoys leaning into the pleasantly strand slice-of-life formats with a hint of romance to them.

More of Lucien's books…
Heather W. Petty
“Sherlock shrugged. “I don’t understand the need for power, really. There are more important pursuits.”
“Only those who have never felt powerless can afford to think like you.”
Heather W. Petty, Lock & Mori

André Aciman
“Did I want him to act? Or would I prefer a lifetime of longing provided we both kept this little Ping-Pong game going: not knowing, not-not-knowing, not-not-not-knowing? Just be quiet, say nothing, and if you can't say "yes," don't say "no," say "later." Is this why people say "maybe" when they mean "yes," but hope you'll think it's "no" when all they really mean is, Please, just ask me once more, and once more after that?
André Aciman, Call Me by Your Name

Koushun Takami
“Loving someone always requires you to not love others.”
Koushun Takami, Battle Royale

Frank Herbert
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Frank Herbert, Dune

Osamu Dazai
“I thought, “I want to die. I want to die more than ever before. There’s no chance now of a recovery. No matter what sort of thing I do, no matter what I do, it’s sure to be a failure, just a final coating applied to my shame. That dream of going on bicycles to see a waterfall framed in summer leaves—it was not for the likes of me. All that can happen now is that one foul, humiliating sin will be piled on another, and my sufferings will become only the more acute. I want to die. I must die. Living itself is the source of sin.”
Osamu Dazai, No Longer Human
