My first question from outside the site! My next book, The Blindness of Odile is set in 1970 Cambridge, England. The main character, Odile, is attending grad school at Newnham college, trying to make a name for herself. She is a non-believer until she has a near death experience in which God speaks to her. Then she is on a transforming journey to learn about loving others and letting go of her ego. I just got the proof yesterday and am proofreading now. Bless you Janis!(less)

Adorable, Inspiring Wrinklies

When my husband Don and I take our daily walk, we hold hands. We sometimes walk over to the Starbucks on Temecula Parkway for coffee. We sometimes walk around Ronald Reagan Park. We sometimes walk around Harveston Lake. We pass oncoming walkers and call out “Good morning,” getting a smile or greeting in return from most of them.

The other day, a woman about our age asked us how long we have been ma

“When you say Love lives in the heart of every person on the planet, you are asserting the doctrine of the Incarnation.” “Doctrine!” “Sorry, that’s just a label for a big idea. If you believe or have experienced Love living inside you and others, you accept the Incarnation.” “Of course. That’s a no-brainer. I have felt it. It’s real. I have even heard messages.” “With the ear of your heart?” “Yes, how did you know?” Therese asked. “That’s a phrase we Benedictines are fond of. It’s quite accurate though, don’t you think?”
Pamella Bowen, Labyrinth Wakening: a spiritual journey novel

“Beloved, I realize that I have all the tools I need to be in your presence whenever I want to. I have this journal, I have the prayer of quiet, I have the Bible and lectio divina, I can speak to you in verbal prayer any time I want, and I can walk the labyrinth here or in the park. Thank you for sending me these tools. I will keep in touch with you regularly, so please keep sending me messages of what you want me to do. I am listening. Gratefully, Therese, your Beloved”
Pamella Bowen, Labyrinth Wakening: a spiritual journey novel

“Yes, actually. When I am on the labyrinth or writing to the Beloved in my journal, it’s the most amazing, exciting thing that has happened to me.” “So how would the Accuser benefit from making you feel foolish or bored?” “I would stop. I would stop walking the labyrinth. I would stop journaling. I would not touch the Bible out of fear-”
Pamella Bowen, Labyrinth Wakening: a spiritual journey novel

“I want to stop becoming something & start being something.”
Reece Hirsch, The Insider

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”
Oscar Wilde

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.”
Bernard M. Baruch

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”
Mae West

“A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.”
Elbert Hubbard
