Renée Shantel started writing at the age of eleven, for no better reason than she was tired of waiting for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to be released. She has entertained dreams of being published ever since.

She has taken several short courses in creative writing, book editing and publishing, and managed to have her first short story published in May, 2017.

When not writing, she can be found trying to rekindle her love of photography, casually learning to play the violin, or smothering her cats with love.

You've mentioned you don't have a set writing schedule, but how do you balance your time between your projects? How do you know what to prioritize? And, how do you manage collaborate projects (like books you're co-authoring) with your schedule? Thanks! Basically I try to prioritize whatever is due first. Deadlines are great motivators. So far, the only collaborative book projects I have published are the two Nico books with Mark Oshiro, and with those, Mark and I just figure it out depending on our See Rick’s answer. Rick Riordan
