We know that stress levels affect how well the body works and stress management is an important part of self care. I was curious to learn about which stress reduction practices have been specifically tested with people with lymphedema. There must be more out there besides deep breathing, right? What about acupuncture, yoga, meditation, pranayama, and other mind-body practices? I started to read published research and YES there is much more than deep breathing! The book Stress Reduction for Lymphedema is a step-by-step how-to guide I put together for my clients with lymphedema. (less)

Neil Gaiman
“Adults follow paths. Children explore. Adults are content to walk the same way, hundreds of times, or thousands; perhaps it never occurs to adults to step off the paths, to creep beneath rhododendrons, to find the spaces between fences. I was a child, which meant that I knew a dozen different ways of getting out of our property and into the lane, ways that would not involve walking down our drive.”
Neil Gaiman, The Ocean at the End of the Lane

Oscar Wilde
“One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.”
Oscar Wilde
