S. N. Pires is a Finnish author who writes speculative fiction and draws inspiration from the phenomenons of the human mind and the nature.

Her prehistorical fantasy trilogy Pedon sydän (Heart of a Beast) is a blend of historical facts about the Bronze Age, folklore, mythology and shamanistic world view of the ancient Sámi and Finno-Ugric people.

Et ole ainoa, joka on kysynyt samaa. Eihän sitä koskaan tiedä vaikka palaisin Pedon sydämen maailmaan ja kirjoittaisin jatko-osan tai ehkä ajasta ennen Hukka-Tommoa, Pikku-Tihiä ja Surutyttöä. Olen kyllä sitä pohtinut, mutta vielä on aikaista sanoa sitä varmaksi.

Tällä hetkellä työn alla on kahden maailmanfantasia, jossa liikutaan sekä nykyajassa että pronssikaudella. Minulla on myös monia muita keskeneräisiä tarinoita, jotka sijoittuvat esihistoriaan, kivi-, pronssi- ja rautakaudelle. Eli varmasti saman tyylisiä tarinoita on tulossa monta lisää lähivuosina.

Olisi kiva tietää, mitä sinä itse ajattelet asiasta: toivoisitko trilogialle jatko-osaa vai ehkä tarinaa auringonkansan menneisyydestä? Mistä haluaisit kuulla lisää?(less)

Kirjoitan kahden maailman tai pikemminkin kahden aikakauden fantasiaa aikuisille. Tarinassa liikutaan nyky-Suomessa ja suomalaisugrilaisten esivanhempien asuinsijoilla pronssikaudella. Siinä on asetettu rinnakkain nykyelämän absurdi hektisyys ja metsästäjä-keräilijöiden yksinkertaisempi elämäntapa. Päähenkilö on täysi-ikäisyyden kynnyksellä kiikkuva huostaanotettu nuori mies. Rappionuoreksi leimatun Jaken mielestä maailman on niin valmis, ettei siellä ole tilaa unelmille. Tarina alkaa henkisen vankeuden toivottomuudesta, mutta päättyy uuteen mahdollisuuteen, kun raja eri aikakausien välillä haperoituu ja Jake siirtyy yllättäen ajassa taaksepäin pronssikauden Kamajoelle.
