Morgan Shamy is a former ballerina and professional pianist whose transition to writing has made her a standout voice in Young Adult fiction. Rooted in a lifelong devotion to the arts, she began ballet at age four and went on to perform on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall before mentoring hundreds of students—many of whom received full scholarships to top ballet schools, including the School of American Ballet, Kirov Academy, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Harid Conservatory.

Morgan discovered writing as a creative lifeline after her three-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer. Determined to bring art and magic to young readers, she poured her heart into fiction—and built a career marked by both critical acclaim and devoted readers.

Morgan Shamy answered M Myosotis's question: Hello! This may be a dumb question, but I recently came into possession of an ARC copy of "The Stricken". I've noticed the page count from ARC to published copy is very different. I was wondering if you would personally recommend I read the published version of the story, or if I may read the ARC as usual? I'm just unsure if there's any significant difference in terms of story or something else I should keep in mind. Hi there! I'm so sorry I just saw this! Delayed answer! You can absolutely read the ARC! It's just an uncorrected proof--but the ARC is great. No significant difference!

Your Subjective POV on Subjectivity was spot on. Loved it. There is an extensive investigation of exactly what you were talking about in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. The author's journey to identify was makes "good" writing precipitates the entire rest of the book/philosophy/electroshock therapy. You probably wouldn't enjoy the book- it's long and gets pretty bogged down in philosophy and science- but his discussion of your question was very intriguing. Essentially he decided that there is something outside of our mortal existence that is good and we measure the goodness of everything inside our mortal existence by that. (Gee, I wonder what/WHO that could be?) :) Interesting post anyway. Love you.
