The Brotherhood - Book 4
Hi everyone,
I've been madly working on book 4 of The Brotherhood, Nick's Envy and we're finally starting the editing. This story has been a rollercoaster, because it's going to crack this series wide open. Things will be turned on their head, there are some huge plot reveals for the series and the ending won't be what you expect.
I just have to say, for the first part of this book, I HATED Nick. My Dad used to say that hate was a terrible word to use and it was used far too lightly, so I got a thesaurus and looked up some alternatives for it when I was a bratty teenager. I loathed, detested, despised and abhored Nick. Yes, I really mean it when I say 'hate' Dad. :P
It got to the point where I just couldn't write him anymore, I didn't want to, I dreaded sitting down at the computer because he was just such a jerk that it wasn't worthwhile. Then I started thinking about how he got to that place, what made him so mean? You don't just wake up one day and turn into an asshole, so how did Nick get there.
A whole new dimension of Nick was opened up when he told me who he was and why. I'm not going to spoil it, but the first chapter will explain a lot. It doesn't excuse his behaviour, but you can kind of see where he's coming from.
He's still an asshole.
I'm hoping to release Nick by the end of this month, and then his "brother" Gage by the end of December. Then, finally, the last book in the Siren Saga.
Like for most people, 2020 took me by surprise and completely changed my plans. I've had to move deadlines, change expectations and postpone my dreams. I'm hoping that 2021 will be the start of new and better things. <3

Turning To Ash
If you've been following me in my group on Facebook you'll know that I'm working on a story where YOU the reader, get to help decide where it goes next.
I don't know about you, but I loved "Choose your own adventure" books as a kid, where you got to make a choice, flip to the right page and find out what happened next. Did you ever do one of those? Of course, at some point you would make a mistake and you would "die" or the adventure would be over, and it would be necessary to backtrack to your last choice. Unfortunately, you won't get a "do-over" in my version (I'm not that much of a masochist, lol).
Still, if you want to come along and join in the fun, simply head over to The Jade Library and look for the relevant posts. We've been having a blast with setting up the details. So, if you don't like this story, you can only blame... me. Well, us. This is meant as a bit of lighthearted fun, I hope that you enjoy it.
I'm sharing the cover here today and the link to the file is live in the group, the title was picked by the members and I love it. Our heroine's name is Ashleigh, also known as Ash. She's a demon and she's about to encounter six hunky angels who are determined to thwart her. Of course she's going to... well, I don't know. We haven't gotten that far yet, but I can tell you, that it's going to be a hot, hot, hot ride. ;)

December 2019
It's been a busy month or so here in our wee household. The boys are getting tired and ready to finish up school for the year, and we've had confirmation that our daughter will be accepted into a local pre-school for three days a week next year. We're toilet training and getting ready for Christmas and all the usual things that go on in a busy household.
Sadly my health hasn't been fantastic. What I thought was just a slightly pinched nerve in my neck has turned out to be marked damage to my vertebrae from my auto-immune arthritis. I nearly lost the use of my right arm entirely! With an MRI and a nerve conduction test we've determined that I have carpel tunnel and impinged nerves at the c6/c7 join. I'll be going for surgery for both on the 18th. I should be back up and brand new by the end of January! So I'm working hard on writing as much as I can tolerate before then.
I've been working hard finishing the edits for "Kurt's Honour" and he went live on December 7th! Yay! This is the first book of a new series of 8 with possibly a few little novellas thrown in to add some spice. I'm working on a little flirty Christmas story between the MC - Grace and her two love interests Kurt and Levi. So keep an eye out for that coming soon.
"Siren" has celebrated her first anniversary with a new cover and a new edition. If you have the original, make sure you go into your kindle/kindle app settings and select the "auto-update" function to get the latest copy. Finally I can announce that the second book in the series "Sovereign" is due to go live on February 1st and is already available for pre-order!
The second book of The Brotherhood, "Levi's Fury", is already up for pre-order and will go live on March 21st - just before my birthday! I'm really excited about releasing both of these titles. Keep an eye on both series, I plan to have more books coming out for them later in the year!
I've also been learning about Mailchimp and StoryOrigin.App (which isn't an app but a site, but I digress), continually looking out for ways to reach out to you.
2020 is the year that I hope to get really serious about my writing, with two novels and three novellas out now, I feel that I need to grow as a writer, and with three days a week next year with no children at home, it's now or never.
To achieve this, I've hired a virtual PA to help me with running things on Facebook so that I can focus more on writing. I'm sad to say that my editor for Kurt has had to retire for family commitments, but I am happy to say that I have found a new one, so we will start working together in the new year. It's my goal to publish 12 books next year. Yes, 12! To be fair, I'm already a fair way into several of them. I write between 10pm and 2am (right now, it's just after midnight for example, lol), so although I may not have published a lot this year, I've certainly written a lot. Just you wait, 2020 is going to be HUGE!
I'm going to leave you with a saucy wee picture today. The fabulous Lizzie Dunlap of "Pixie Covers" on Facebook, has worked her magic again and made me a fabulous boxed set cover for my Club Frenzy Novellas. You'll be able to purchase them soon as a set, rather than individually, and at a discount too!
I hope that this season finds you and yours well, and that you have a safe and peaceful time filled with love, joy and hope!
Merry Christmas!
P.S. Don't forget to click on the box up the top LEFT (yes, left) to sign up to my brand new monthly newsletter. Or the one on the top RIGHT to subscribe to this blog.

Update
The last twelve months has been a bit of a roller-coaster for me. Shortly after publishing my first book, I suffered a burnout/breakdown. I was unable to write for months afterward, and it wasn't until January that I finally sat down to try and force myself to write a short story.
After several failed attempts, I was hit by inspiration while out on a picnic with my family. All I had to had was an old ballpoint pen in the bottom of my bag, and a paper napkin! I still have it, and one day, I'll frame the darn thing, lol, but it was the beginning of "Double Frenzy" a short erotica piece. I know, it's a strange thing to come up with while on a picnic with my husband and children, but I had been chatting with a friend on messenger in the background.
February and March saw two more Frenzy novellas published, and by then, I was well enough to start looking at writing other things. However, I still couldn't face the task of writing the sequel to "Siren".
I've now got a whole collection of story ideas, scenes and concepts for a small library's worth of stories, and I hope to develop the vast majority of them (hey, I'm realistic, I don't think I'll ever whittle down my stories folder to zero) and share them with the world.
"Kurt's Honour" is the start of a new series that I am working on. It will consist of eight books, and if I have enough 'juice' leftover, there may even be a prequel and a 'christmas special'. The idea for these came purely from looking at stock photos on Depositphotos.com. I was gathering ideas for a friend who is a cover designer, and I can remember saying to her, "look at all these guys in grey hoodies. You could do a series of them. Call them, The Brotherhood and they could...". I went on to outline a series and realised that this was a great idea. So, instead of inspiring her to put together a set of premade covers, I ended up ordering a set of custom covers!
I'm excited by this book, with the help of my editor at Stoirm Publications, I've polished this little nugget into what I believe is the best piece of writing that I've ever done! I've decided to ignore the nay-sayers and the trolls who seem to enjoy posting mean reviews. I have enough support around me now to know that some people do enjoy my writing, and this book and all the others that I will write is for them. If I can give even one person an enjoyable experience, then I have fulfilled my calling to share what I write.
I'm going to try and get on top of my social media, it's hard to fit it all in around my family and commitments, but I do believe that this is what I'm meant to do with my life.
If you've made it this far, then you're a saint, and I just want to thank you for your support. It means everything to me! <3
Kurt's Honour is now available for pre-order here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081956DWC

At that time, it will also be FREE on KU.

First Step!
Siren is now live on Amazon. You can get it here: "Siren" by Jade Thorn on Amazon
Or, if you are in Australia like me: "Siren" by Jade Thorn on Amazon.com.au
I'm really thrilled with the cover that was done by Pixie Covers who I think she did a fabulous job.
It's quite overwhelming all the "post production" things that you need to learn. I'm now set up with Kindle Direct Publishing (mini-drama), and I'm setting up my Author profile (another mini-drama). I'm gathering ARC readers to sound out any issues with future books and working madly on networking in order to find you all (figuratively speaking of course)!
I'm having a blast, learning a lot and making lots of new friends. Really, what else could a girl ask for? Hmm, maybe a harem of her own? LOL.
Happy Reading
Jade

A new beginning
My name isn't really Jade Thorn, I think you might have guessed that already, but this is going to be my home base for information about my upcoming books, new releases, giveaways and more. I'm really looking foward to connecting with you all.
So, a bit about me. I'm in my 40's, very happily married with three gorgeous children. We live in Australia. I love contemporary romance over a wide variety of styles but my favourite has to be Reverse Harem. Of late, whenever I go to write, I find my girls getting all the love and care that they deserve. I'm a big fan of happily ever after, but I understand that life is tough, and that the road to get there can be devastating.
Keep an eye out for me on Facebook: Jade Thorn Author Facebook Page and I'll be popping up in Kindle soon.
I'm currently working on Book Two of the Siren series. I'm really surprised about that, because it was meant to be all one book, yet I found myself at 3am this morning with 76 thousand words, a dramatic climax (non-sexual, you naughty thing, lol), and still so much more to tell about Catriona and her journey, so, I guess there's a book two. (Yes, I'm already a thousand words into it. ;) ).
I also have a trilogy in the works, this one is based on Earth, but has definite alien involvement. I'm not usually a fan of alien stories, "abducted by the...", "Sold to the..." just don't do it for me, so you'll be relieved to know that these are nothing like that. Book one is nearly finished, book two has a full "skeleton" outlined and book three has the concept sketched out. My jump drive got wiped by the microwave (don't ask) but thankfully I have most of it saved in an email to a friend who was proof reading, and the rest is in hard copy - just as well I can touch type 120wpm huh? So, once I finish the Siren sequal, the Portal series will be next on my list.
I've been writing since I was a little girl. One of my primary school teachers was devastated when I told her that I was a scientist in a hospital laboratory. She had always thought that I would grow up to be a writer. I had no idea, I mean, I love to write, but it never occurred to me that people would like what I wrote. So, if you have a little budding author around you, don't forget to encourage them! I've come a long way since those words of encouragement (it's been over ten years) and now I'm finally able to set aside a little time each day to devote to one of my favourite hobbies. I hope that you enjoy this writing journey with me.
