Hi!
I'm "Jade" (pen name only). I'm a stay at home mother to three gorgeous young children. I've been writing stories since I was a little girl, but I have never had the confidence to share them. Finally a friend talked me into publishing something, so, "Siren" was born.

I ask you to be kind in your reviews. I know that you may not like what I write, but it doesn't mean that you have to be nasty about it. I don't understand people who feel the need to do that. My books cost less than a cup of coffee. If you didn't like the coffee, would you abuse the person who served you?

How do you deal with writer’s block?

It could be because I'm tired or stressed, and I just need to walk away and do something fun or get some sleep (I usually write from 10pm to 2am - I have 3 kids lol).

Or, if I find the story wandering about and not making much sense - it's also a kind of writer's block - I either go back to my original story idea notes, or I reread the whole thing from scratch.

I have a whole tonne of story ideas and outlines and half written pieces. If I'm absolutely stuck, I'll visit something else. Sometimes reading old things of mine will just kickstart the imagination.

I can go and read. There's nothing like a good book to get your imagination firing.

Or, sometimes I need to just walk away for a long time. I had a breakdown/burnout after my first book. I can't even bring myself to write the next one in the series, it was that bad. I didn't write from October to January. I also crochet, and I couldn't do that either. I was just flat and depressed. I just had to give myself time to reboot. I started again by writing short stories in January, just 10k pieces. That helped get my juices flowing again, but it wasn't until March that I started what I hoped would be my next book. I'm currently editing it and it will be out soon, a new series - The Brotherhood. (I still can't bring myself to write the 2nd book of my first series - it's still too closely associated with my breakdown).(less)

I wish I could wrap it around me like armour when I read some of the reviews of those who didn't like it. It's ok not to like something, but to trash it - it hurts. That's the worst thing about being a writer, exposing yourself to people who are not decent or kind in their criticism. xoxo(less)

The Brotherhood - Book 4

Hi everyone,

I've been madly working on book 4 of The Brotherhood, Nick's Envy and we're finally starting the editing. This story has been a rollercoaster, because it's going to crack this series wide open. Things will be turned on their head, there are some huge plot reveals for the series and the ending won't be what you expect.
