Women Without Men by Shahrnush Parsipur
"If I had a nickel for every time I read an International Booker Prize-nominated book where a woman deeply wanted to turn into a tree and the narrative, against all logic, allowed it—I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's ha" Read more of this review »

Burçin Tetik and 2 other people liked Hannah's review of Mothers:
Mothers by Brenda Lozano
"I mean, I read this in its entirety in one day, across two flights, so it was exceedingly readable, I'll give it that. It's also really distressing, and the end annoyed me because it was so fucking smug. I kind of saw what was coming and just didn't " Read more of this review »

“Elbette annemin ölümü benim suçumdu. Her annenin ölümü çocuğunun suçudur. Bunu her doğuran bilir.

“They hurt you. You hurt 'em back. Or maybe it is the other way around. Whatever. Someday you might find a way to forgive each other. But it won't be like it used to 'cause that pain never really goes away.”
Brian K. Vaughan, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8, Vol. 2: No Future for You

“If he loved with all the powers of his puny being, he couldn't love as much in eighty years as I could in a day.”
Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

“I'll be as dirty as I please, and I like to be dirty, and I will be dirty!”
Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights

“If you ever looked at me once with what I know is in you, I would be your slave.”
Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights

“Why did you betray your own heart Cathy? I have not one word of comfort. You deserve this. You have killed yourself. ... You loved me - then what right had you to leave me? Because ... nothing God or satan could inflict would have parted us, you, of your own will, did it. I have not broken your heart - you have broken it; and in breaking it, you have broken mine. So much the worse for me that I am strong. Do I want to live? What kind of living will it be when you - oh God! would you like to live with your soul in the grave? [...] I forgive what you have done to me. I love my murderer - but yours! How can I?”
Emily Brontë
