This was terrific! Not sure what I was expecting but for such a short book it packs in so much suspense. Surprisingly graphic for a book written in 1959.

I’d give it zero if I could. This book made me angry. I’ve read Slugs by Hutson and thought it was vaguely entertaining but appallingly written. This retained the appalling writing while adding explicit scenes of child sex abuse involving babies. I s ...more

One of the most singularly frightening novels I’ve ever read. I’m not ok. Sweet Jesus, that was terrifying!

Gleefully nasty and at times absolutely disgusting. Dated for sure and its finally act gets so off the wall that it kind of scuppers the first half. Entertaining though. These 1980s English catastrophe horrors are good fun.
