I was born in Chesterfield, a small market town in England, in 1980 and raised in the stunning surrounds of the Peak District, where I remained before heading off to Lancaster University.

I studied business management for four years (including a year placement at British Airways in London) before realising that the prospect of real life was too terrible to contemplate and deciding that another two years of studying was in order. This decision took me to the beautiful city of York, where I studied law.

I trained as a lawyer with an international law firm in Nottingham, qualifying as a corporate lawyer in 2006. After just over 15 months in the rat race (light, provincial version), I took a nine month sabbatical during which I travelled the worl

Hong Kong - nothing goes Wrong but race takes Long...

Marathon Number 117 would take my marathon adventures to the Orient for the first time, with Hong Kong (China I guess?) also to be the 31stcountry in which I have completed a marathon*. 
 Thanks exclusively to Gill, our accommodation in Hong Kong – the Mandarin Oriental - was probably the most fancy pre-race hotel I have enjoyed to date.  This was assisted by an unexpected upgrade to a suite with Read more of this blog post »
