Jason R. Cash was born in Anniston, Alabama, and grew up with a love for storytelling that followed him throughout his life. In 2016, he and his wife Lori moved to the Gulf Coast, where the laid-back lifestyle, close-knit communities, and endless inspiration from the water and people around him began to shape not only his career but also his writing. Jason is the proud father of three adult children and “Paw Paw” to three wonderful grandchildren who bring joy and laughter into his life. Not to any particular place—but through time itself. Since the series centers on time travel, I’ve often imagined using that power to witness key moments in American history firsthand. Being a bit of a history buff, it would be incredible to see those events unfold in real life.
But beyond history, there’s something more personal I’d change. Back in high school, I had a friend who passed away from cancer during his senior year. If I could go back, I’d travel to a point five years before his diagnosis—just to tell him to get checked early, to catch it before it spread. Some journeys wouldn’t be about discovery—they’d be about second chances.(less)

Don’t Let the Title Fool You

The title Darkness may throw some people off. It’s easy to assume it’s a story about monsters in the shadows or things that go bump in the night — but it’s not that kind of series. Darkness is about something far more real, far more possible.

It begins when multiple EMPs detonate high above America, lighting up the sky before plunging everything below into silence. Power grids collapse. The hum of Read more of this blog post »
