I spent my early years longing to be an English countryside vet thanks to James Herriot's All Creatures Great and Small series, and an adventurist archaeologist like George Lucas's Indiana Jones character. After studying veterinary pre-med and earning an anthropology degree, I realized my true passion is story in all its forms.

When I'm not writing, reading, or binge-watching stories, I'm often pursuing a physical challenge like studying Krav Maga or aspiring to achieve the perfect crow pose. I also spends her time drinking too much coffee, not enough red wine, and just the right amount of bourbon.

It's also going under…moreThe next story in the Harrow's Finest Five series, which is Percy's (aka Captain Granville's) chance for his HEA, is in editing. It's also going under a title change, so right now it's just called Percy's Story. It will be released in late September, 2019.

While I'm waiting for the editor's notes, I'm writing the first draft of Harry's story, titled Four Corners of Heaven. Harry is the scientist of the group, a research botanist who has been in South America for years, until a Very Bad Thing that happens in scene one forces him to return to England. Back in London, he meets Adelia, a midwife who wants to become a doctor and who is also affected by the Very Bad Thing. Together, they set off to solve a mystery and correct some other bad things, and--as you can imagine--romantic sparks begin to fly.

Four Corners will be released in late January, 2020. I promise both the story and the description will improve immensely by then!(less)

But honestly, those cures address writing stalls, which tend to occur when I don't yet have a handle on the story or something has gone off the rails. At those times, I might not be getting words onto the page, but I'm doing brain work and discovery exercises, which are a huge part of writing.

The only time I had real writer's block was when I was in a period of deep mourning. I just had nothing I wanted to say to the world, and I had to give myself time to heal. It took a really long time, but eventually the voices (characters) in my head returned and I was ready to tell their stories.(less)
