Zvi Lanir (צבי לניר) (born October 10, 1936 ) is the founder and president of the Praxis Company and a developer of "The Basic Surprise" theory and its implications for combining thinking and management strategies and author of The Reason of Reason for Late Maturity in Human Life.

Zvi Lanir was born and raised in Haifa and is a graduate of Halutz High School . The military service began as a member of Nahal Nuclear and was sent to the Nuclear Training Corps and then to the Officers Course. He held various commanding positions in combat units and, after completing his position as a company commander in the Golani Brigade , was sent by the IDF for academic studies.
