Tonja K. Johnson (she/her) is a Black American speculative fiction writer. Her work honors the rich, diverse culture of her ancestors while also representing Blackness in all its resistance, queerness, and neurodivergence. She is an acquiring editor at FIYAH Literary Magazine and first reader at OTHERSIDE. In 2024 she won the MN BIPOC Emerging Writer award in fiction and in ‘23 she received the Write Like Us Grant. Tonja is also a Go Back & Fetch It fellow and a McCormack Writing Center alum. Her fiction can be found or forthcoming in PseudoPod, Blue Earth Review, Midnight & Indigo, FIYAH Literary Magazine, Tordotcom, and other fine publications.
