Jessalyn is the author of the Viis Dhia trilogy. She has been writing since she was nine years old, her first piece of work being a fanfiction of The Princess Bride set in her own world. After watching Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace, Jessalyn wrote her first book at age twelve, directly inspired from the movie, and has been writing ever since.

Her fate was sealed after seeing Cirque du Soleil's Dralion and reading The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks. Since then, Jessalyn has been constantly writing. Lani was a product of her fourteen-year-old mind that she has been cultivating into the book it is today.

Don't get frustrated forcing it out. Try to write a little, enough to keep the juices flowing. Watch or listen to stuff that inspires you. Or read something. What works for me won't work for everyone, but music is a big trigger for me (in a good way). Sometimes that's enough, but other times I have to read a book and take inspiration from that.

It also helps to have a friend (or even an object!) to talk out your issues with. Sometimes I just talk to myself in the shower about an issue I'm having and I resolve it. Sometimes I talk to a friend, who doesn't even have to give me an answer sometimes. Literally talking out can help.

All I can say, as cliché as it might be, is don't give up. It doesn't always come easily, but you have time. It's still your story, it'll still get out there.(less)

I'll admit I was worried about this book when I saw some of the review prior to reading it. However, my biggest issue was the tense switching. It would not have been so bad if there had been more of a clean break, maybe a line or symbols instead of s ...more
