Free Historical Novel - Where Seagulls Fly
The Kindle version of Where Seagulls Fly (2013 Edition) will be free to download from the 1st until the 3rd of January to mark the forthcoming release of my second historical novel, Song of the Sea (due for release on the 2nd February).
Described as 'an evocative gem of a novel' by the Historical Novel Society, Where Seagulls Fly is an emotive tale about a social outcast seeking refuge with the monks on St. Michael's Mount and is set in the years 1274 and 1275.

Free Kindle book on the craft of writing
The Kindle edition of my book on writing, entitled The Writer in Me, The Writer in You, is free to download today.
It contains insights into the state of Flow, along with chapters on such things as description, characterisation and inspiration.
It also identifies three different approaches to writing fiction and uses supportive material to discuss each one.
The Writer in Me, The Writer in You is sure to strike a cord with those of you who feel that writing is a calling.

Free Kindle book
The Kindle edition of my new novella, The Hanging Tree, is free to download today and tomorrow. Here's the blurb and then the links to its US & UK pages:
Set in the mid 1800s, The Hanging Tree is a bittersweet tale of the love between two slaves. It weaves a story that evokes both happiness and sadness with threads of love, loss, superstition and threat.
Isaac and Oneesha live on a cotton plantation in Louisiana. They are afforded greater liberty than many of their people, but their lives still fall under the constant shadow of their position as slaves, a shadow that contains much which is fearful and perilous. Savouring fleeting rendezvous during the hours of darkness, they toil through the days and hope that their prayers for freedom will be answered.

UK page link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hanging-Tree-...
This book is available in Kindle and paperback formats, though due to its very recent release some Amazon sites may no have linked the two formats as yet.
If you download it, I hope you enjoy the read.
