Editing & Reviews
The editing of Song of the Sea is going well and I'm starting to get more excited about its release two months today. Once the edit is complete the final version of the paperback can be printed and then sent out to be reviewed in early January. It's being sent to around ten publications, which is the most any of my books has ever been sent to. That's a little daunting and nerve-wracking. Fingers crossed it's well-received.
Having a novel that has local interest helps when it comes to getting reviews as local papers and magazines are usually interested in receiving the work. In this case, there are a number of publications relating to Cornwall that are only too happy to review the book, a few of which were sent Where Seagulls Fly and gave it good reviews back in 2009.

Free Historical Novel - Where Seagulls Fly
The Kindle version of Where Seagulls Fly (2013 Edition) will be free to download from the 1st until the 3rd of January to mark the forthcoming release of my second historical novel, Song of the Sea (due for release on the 2nd February).
Described as 'an evocative gem of a novel' by the Historical Novel Society, Where Seagulls Fly is an emotive tale about a social outcast seeking refuge with the monks on St. Michael's Mount and is set in the years 1274 and 1275.

The Kindle version of Where Seagulls Fly (2013 Edition) will be free to download from tomorrow until Saturday to mark the forthcoming release of my 2nd historical novel, entitled Song of the Sea. Due for release on Monday 2nd February, Song of the Sea was inspired by the legend of the mermaid of Zennor. The 2013 Edition of Where Seagulls Fly contains a small section about writing the story at the end of the book, unlike the previous edition.

Local Papers do Feature
I appeared in the Cambridge News yesterday in relation to the forthcoming release of Song of the Sea and will be featured in the Ely News tomorrow. The photograph accompanying the words wasn't too bad - and it's not often you'll hear me say that about a photograph of me ;-)
I've also heard that the novel will be reviewed in Cornwall Today magazine and by the Historical Novel Society, which is great!

Song of the Sea released one week today
Song of the Sea will be released as a paperback and Kindle edition a week today. Feeling a touch of nervous anticipation and hoping that readers will enjoy the read. It's similar to sending a child out into the world and hoping it will be well received.
